Abstract
La presente invencion proporciona una espuma compuesta polimerica con un material de relleno tratado y metodos para hacerla. La espuma compuesta polimerica incluye un polimero al cual se le puede dar la forma de una espuma polimerica y un material de relleno tratado, en donde el polimero define una pluralidad de celdas dispersadas a traves del mismo y el material de relleno tratado es dispersado por rodo el polimero. El material de relleno es tratado por medio de tecnicas las cuales exfolian, deslaminan o intercalan las particulas del material de relleno en particulas y plaquetas individuales de dimensiones micro y/o nanometricas. Idealmente, el material de relleno tratado tiene un tamano de particula promedio que varia de aproximadamente 0.1. nm-10??m. El material de relleno tratado mejora la rigidez, propiedades de barrera, temperatura de deflexion por calor, caracteristicas de nucleacion, caracteristicas de retardador del fuego y propiedades de impacto de la espuma. Los productos fabricados a partir de la espuma compuesta polimerica incluyen envases, tazas, fundas, bolsas, platos, tazones, empaques protectores, tableros, laminas, materiales de relleno vacios, recipientes, vajillas y utensilios de cocina. La presente invencion tambien proporciona metodos para fabricar la espuma compuesta polimerica.
