Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un metodo para hacer funcionar un baño de autodeposición que comprende los pasos de:a) proporcionar un baño que comprende i) un polímero autodepositable, ii) un ácido en cantidad suficiente para mantener el pH del baño no más de aproximadamente 4, iii) un oxidante soluble en cantidad suficiente para mantener el potencial redox del baño por lo menos en aproximadamente 425 mv más oxidante que un electrodo de cloruro de plata saturado con plata y iv) una concentración de hierro soluble menor de un vapor específico; b) poner en contacto el baño que se proporciona en el paso a) con una superficie de metal activo ferrífero, a fin de ocasionar la autodeposición del polímero sobre la misma y para ocasionar que la concentración de hierro soluble en el baño aumente, mientras que se mantiene simultáneamente el potencial redox del baño por lo menos a aproximadamente 425 mv más oxidante que un electrodo de cloruro de plata saturado con plata, hasta la concentración del hierro soluble en el baño exceda el valor específico; y c) poner en contacto el baño, despues de completar el paso b), con cantidades adicionales de la superficie de metal activo ferrífero a fin de ocasionar la autodeposición del polímero sobre la superficie de metal activo del baño mientras que tiene un potencial redox no mayor de aproximadamente 375 mv más oxidante que el electrodo de cloruro de plata saturado con plata, en donde el regimen promedio de aumento del hierro soluble en el baño, por área unitaria del metal activo durante el paso c) del procedimiento, es menor que durante el paso b).
