Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a procedimiento para la desasfaltación y la desmetalización de petroleo crudo o de una de sus fracciones, conteniendo asfaltos y metales, caracterizado por el hecho de que: a) se pone en contacto el crudo, o su fracción con carbonato orgánico seleccionado entre los carbonatos de dialquilo definibles con la fórmula: (fórmula) en donde R y R' iguales odiferentes entre si, representan un radical alquilo que contiene de 1 a 3 átomos de carbono, y los carbonatos cilicos definibles con la fórmula: (fórmula) donde R representa hidrogeno o metilo; y se opera en fase liquida homogenea, hasta provocar la precipitación de un residuo solido rico en asfaltos y en metales asfaltenicos; y b) se separa el residuo solido de la fase liquida homogenea.
