Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un aparato para separar cascajo de una corriente de líquido mientras retiene los sólidos orgánicos en el mismo, el cual comprende: una cámara de almacenamiento de cascajo cilíndrica, que tiene un diámetro inferior al de dicha cámara de establecimiento, dispuesta inmediatamente debajo de dicha cámara de establecimiento; una superficie de transición que separa a dicha cámara de establecimiento de dicha cámara de establecimiento, teniendo dicha superficie de transición una abertura centralmente dispuesta a través de la misma, permitiendo la comunicación entre dicha cámara de establecimiento y dicha cámara de almacenamiento; un conducto de efluente para introducir una corriente de líquido influente para introducir una corriente de líquido influente directamente hacia una porción inferior de dicha cámara de establecimiento a lo largo de la periferia exterior de la misma, siendo dicho conducto de efluente espaciado de dicho conducto de influente por una distancia igual a por lo menos una porción substancial de la circunferencia de dicha cámra de elemento de amortiguación posicionado dentro de dicha cámara de establecimiento, para dirigir la corriente de líquido influente que entra a dicha cámara de establecimiento hacia afuera, hacia una porición inferior de la periferia de dicha cámara de establecimiento, y que evita el derramamiento de la misma a través de dicha superficie de transición, y un elemento de propulsor montado dentro de dicha cámara de establecimiento arriba de dicha superficie de transición, para rotación alrededor de un eje sustancialmente vertical en la misma dirección que el flujo del líquido dentro de dicha cámara de establecimiento, a una velocidad suficiente para causar un patrón de flujo radial a través de dicha superficie de transición de velocidad incrementada para causar que las partículas más pesadas pasen a través de dicha abertura hasta dicha cámara de almacenamiento de cascajo, y que las partículas más ligeras sean levantadas hacia arriba dentro d euna porción central de dicha cámara de establecimiento.
