Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un producto para grabado magnético, caracterizado porque comprende: a) una base de soporte no magnética que tiene dos superficies principales opuestas, y b) una capa magnetizable o no magnetizable sobre por lo menos una porción de cuando menos una de las superficies principales, en donde por lo menos una de las capas magnetizables y no magnetizables está constituída de un sólido en partículas finamente divididas y un mezcla aglutinante entrelazada para el mismo, la cual mezcla aglutinante entrelazada está constituida de por lo menos aproximadamente 5 por ciento en peso de un polímero de dispersión que tiene un grado de polimerización mayor que aproximadamente 100, constituído de unidades derivadas de: i) uno o más monómeros aromáticos de vinilo y uno o más monómeros etilénicamente insaturados que tienen una funcionalidad de hidroxilo alifático, o ii) uno o más monómeros aromáticos de vinilo que tienen una funcionalidad de hidroxilo, el cual polímero ayuda en la dispersión del sólido en partículas en la citada capa y el cual está entrelazado en el citado aglutinante. Un método para preparar un producto para grabado magnético, caracterizado porque comprende: a) formar una dispersión reactiva, fluida, estable, que comprende un sólido en partículas fínamente divididas y un polímero de dispersión constituído de unidades derivadas de: i) uno o más monómeros aromáticos de vinilo, y uno o más monómeros etilénicamente insaturados, que tiene una funcionalidad de hidroxilo alifático, o ii) uno o más monómeros aromáticos de vinilo que tiene una funcionalidad de hidroxilo, b) mezclar dicha dispersión con un entrelazador, y c) revestir por lo menos una porción de una superficie principal de una base de soporte no magnetizable con la citada mezcla.
