Abstract

The invention relates to agriculture, namely to a method for assessing the viability of winter wheat after wintering. The method, according to the invention, consists in selecting the plants in spring before revegetation, their washing, pruning the roots, measuring the stem length, screwing into filter paper soaked in water and maintaining in a closed vessel in a thermostat at 25°C for 24 hours, after which is measured the gain of the stem and evaluated the viability by comparing it with the gain set for a high viability, constituting at least 1 cm, at the same time the greater the gain, the higher the viability. The result is to simplify and speed up the method.
