Abstract

The invention relates to phycobiotechnology, particularly to a process for determining the amount of Nostoc linckia cyanobacterium biomass, and can be used in agriculture, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.The process, according to the invention, consists in that is separated the biomass from the culture liquid by filtration, then it is washed with an ammonium acetate solution, is suspended in distilled water, is filtered through a filter with pores of 0.3…0.5 mm, is re-suspended in distilled water, is measured the optic density at the wavelength of 590 or 700 nm, and the amount of biomass is determined by multiplying the obtained results by the recalculation coefficients 0.84 or 0.89, respectively.
