Abstract

The invention relates to mechanical engineering, namely to the profiling of helical surfaces.The device for profiling helical shafts includes a holder (1), on which is fixed a perforated hollow shaft (2), at one end of which, with the possibility of rotation, is placed a slotted disc (3) with a handle (4) to fix the operating position and a fixed retainer (5) with two positions. At the other end of the perforated hollow shaft (2) is rigidly fixed a bearing (6) and another slotted disc (7). Between the slotted disks (3, 7) are staggered internal (8) and external (13) springs, with the possibility of placement between them the workpiece (17) for profiling. The internal springs (8) are fixed to the disks (3, 7) through slots by means of retainer plates (9, 10) with bolts (11) at one end of the shaft (2) and with pins (12) at the opposite end. The external springs (13) are fixed to the disks (3, 7) through slots by means of retainer plates (14, 15) with bolts (16). The external springs (13) are encompassed by wrapping springs (18). Inside the perforated hollow shaft (2) is placed a heating element (19).The process, realized with the help of the said device, consists in the plastic deformation of workpiece (17) by means of a heat-transfer agent capable to communicate the desired temperature to deformation. The workpiece (17), when it is rotated, by means of springs (8, 13, 18), is communicated a pressure force. The number of internal (8) and external (13) springs and their shape is selected depending on the number of inputs and the desired profile. Cooling of the piece is performed in the open air or by means of a cooling agent.
