Abstract

The invention relates to a process for the regeneration of an electrolyte for the deposition of iron platings on base of Fe(II) salts and may be applied for the reconditioning of worn-out parts of the machines and mechanisms.Summary of the process includes reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) ions on volume-porous flow-type electrodes with the layer thickness of 0.5...1.0 cm, at the flow volume velocity of 0.5...0.75 L/m2·s in a two-step periodic pulse current regime at the cathodic current density of the first pulse Jk1 of 5...10 A/dm2 and the polarization time tk1 of 10...20 s, and of the second pulse Jk2 of 25...30 A/dm2 and the polarization time tk2 of 5...10 s, in the ratio of the sum of both pulses to the pause tp between pulses of (tk1 + tk2) : tp = 1 : (1 : 1.5).As volume-porous flow-type electrodes are used carbon-fibrous materials.
