Abstract
The variety of pear-tree (Pyrus communis L.) Sokrovişce is obtained by crossing the varieties Triumf de Vienne x Olivier de Serres, is destinated for fresh fruit consumption and is districted for all the fruit-growing zones of the Republic of Moldova. The tree is of a medium size and quick growing vigour with pyramidal crown, high, symmetrical, slightly thickened by fruits. The skeletal branches are directed at an angle of 45-50°C to the leader. The shoots are thick, light-brown. The trees bear fruits on complex stems and at the ends of young one year aged plants. The weight of the fruit constitutes 180-220 g, the biggest reach the weight of 350-400 g of a large shart conical form with sleek surface. The pul is thin. The general colour of the fruits in the growing period is light-green, in the period of fruit-bearing - yellow, on the sunny side it has an orange nuance. The pulp is white, slightly cream coloued, sour-sweet, oily, aromatic. The fruits ripen late in August-early in September, are well kept in the gridge without lasing their taste qualities. The variety is compatible with the quince-tree. The trees cultivated on quince-trees in the 5th year of vegetation have a productivity of 15-20 kg, which constitues 18,0-20,0 t/ha. It blossoms early. The variety is self-fertilising. The varieties Beurre Jiffard, Noiabriskaia Moldovei are the best pollinators.
