Abstract

The invention relates to tribology, in particular to an abrasive wear testing technique and a method of determining the concentration of the dispersed phase of the composite material with maximum resistance to wear. The abrasive wear testing technique includes the cyclic friction-slip of the standard and test material on a surface with abrasive particles fixed according to the turning diagram, determination of the ratio between the standard and test material wear values. The friction is carried out at the contact with the same abrasive surface, the geometric parameters and structure of which at a stable wear regime are invariable, and the abrasive particles at the beginning of the test are pointed. The material wear is carried out mainly by microcyclic fatigue, and the wear value of the standard material is determined at a fixed load, providing a contact surface wear mechanism, similar to the wear of the estimated material. The method of determining the concentration of the dispersed phase of the composite material with maximum resistance to wear includes the wear test of the composite material for different loads according to the aforesaid technique. At the same time, it is determined the composite material wear resistance dependence on the concentration therein of the dispersed phase and by the quadratic interpolation of three points, situated on both branches of the curve, it is analytically determined the optimum concentration of the dispersed phase, for which the composite material resistance to wear is maximum.
