Abstract
The invention refers to the field of nondestructive testing, namely to a process for welds ultrasonic testing.The process for welds ultrasonic testing consists in that one combined 1 and at least one reception 2 ultrasonic inclined piezotransformers are installed onto the surface of the tested article 3 so that the direction of radiation and reception thereof are intersecting in the controlled weld sector 4, 5. The radiation of the ultrasound pulses and reception of the echo signals is carried out by all the inclined transformers in each cycle time of the non-destructive testing instrument. The echo signals from the weld testing sector, received by all the transformers, are selected according to the time of receipt and the amplitudes thereof are registered. By comparing the amplitudes of received echo signals, corresponding to one of ultrasound pulse in each testing time, with the discarded sensitivity level prescribed separately for each echo signal, it is determined the defect presence, and the type thereof and direction is determined according to the number and location of the transformers having registered the echo signal received from the defect.The result of the invention consists in increasing the productivity of the automatized testing and the reliability of determining the revealed defect type and orientation.
