Abstract

The invention relates to the field of electrochemistry, in particular to a complex method for electrochemical corrosion protection of metals. The method, according to the invention, consists in measuring the stationary potential of metal structures in laboratory and field conditions, determining the value of the activity index of hydrogen ions (pH) of the electrolyte, polarizing the protected metal by a periodic current with a reverse pulse adjustable in amplitude and duration. Measurement of the protection potential values φq=0 of the metal-electrolytic system at a temperature of 298 K includes the determination of the maximum possible displacement of the stationary potential relative to φq=0 and the use of such displacement to create a protection potential change interval, which makes it possible to improve the quality of protection and at the same time reduce the electric energy consumption in water and soil up to two or more times.
