Abstract

The invention relates to the field of tobacco afterharvesting treatment, in particular to the fermentation stage thereof, and may be used by tobacco producing farms and fermentation enterprises for obtaining of tobacco raw material useful for manufacture of smoking articles.The problem the present invention solves consists in excluding the overdrying of the tobacco bales periphery and in reducing the power consumption for realization of the fermentation process.The process, according to the invention, solves the proposed problem by the fact that in the known process for tobacco fermentation, including alternation of tobacco heating into the chamber up to a temperature of 50…60°C and cooling up to 40…45°C for active ventilation with the maintenance of a relative air humidity in the chamber over the range of 65…75%, for tobacco heating the active ventilation degree is maintained over the range of 2,0…2,5 m3/h to 1 kg of loaded raw material, and for cooling - the active ventilation is disconnected.The duration of all operations, including heating of the raw material and cooling thereof up to the ambient temperature, for realization of the proposed process averages about 120 hours. The number of cycles “heating-cooling” at the tobacco initial humidity covered in the interval of 20…28% varies from two to six at an average duration of one cycle of 8…10 h.
