Abstract
The invention relates to agriculture, namely horticulture, particularly to a process for the directed formation of the plant root system in orchards and vineyards.The process, according to the invention, includes placement in the soil in the planting year of a vertical screen for limitation of radial spreading of the horizontal roots at a distance of 25...30 cm from the stem and cutting for limitation of radial spreading of the horizontal roots, which is carried out beginning with the sixth year after planting, every three years. At the same time, the screen is manufactured of U-shapely bent polyethylene film, which is filled with plant residues, having the height of 60 cm, the width of 75 cm and the thickness of 8 cm, and is placed in the soil in the form of semicircle.The claimed process provides for the three-time decrease in the quantity of the used polyethylene film and the two-time reduction of the number of cuttings for limitation of the horizontal roots. The result consists in increasing the plant development and growth control level, increasing the productivity thereof and in considerably decreasing the agricultural production cost.
