Abstract

La présente invention concerne un produit retardateur de flamme constitué d'une solution aqueuse comportant : - un constituant carboné hydroxylé, - un agent intumescent apte à déshydrater au moins partiellement, voire totalement le constituant carboné hydroxylé de manière à générer, sous l'effet de la chaleur, une mousse charbonnée, - un agent thixotrope, choisi pour présenter une viscosité qui augmente sous l'effet d'un ajout d'eau en l'absence de cisaillement, la solution étant suffisamment concentrée en constituant carboné hydroxylé et en agent intumescent pour qu'un ajout d'eau dans ladite solution en augmente la viscosité en l'absence de cisaillement.
