Abstract

The offered hydroelectric pumped storage power station (HAES) shown in fig.1 consists of weir (1), backwater (2) formed by raising the level of river by means of dam, turbo-pump station (3) with turbines (4) and pumps (5), pipe-lines (6, 8), water storage (7) and hydroelectric plant (9) with turbine-driven generator. The hydraulic power of water in HAES is used by turbo-pump station established near the weir in order to operate the pumps (5) by which water is pumped up and accumulated in the storage (7) established in the highlands. Thereby the accumulated water is subsequently used for the production of electric power in case of peak load.
