Abstract

본 발명의 연마 절단 요소는 절단층과 금속 기층으로 이루어지며, 연마 절단 요소와 금속 기층간의 접촉면은 사면을 가진다. 절단 요소의 평면은 금속 기층의 원통형 부분의 표면에 대해서 약 5°내지 약 85°의 각도를 형성한다. 이러한 절단 요소는 잔류 응력, 층분리 저항, 압축성형 파손에 대한 저항이 개선되며, 드릴 비트에 통합될 경우 압축 하중으로부터의 파손에 대한 저항이 개선된다. 연마 절단층은 다이아몬드 또는 입방붕소 질화물인 것이 바람직하며, 금속 기층은 텅스텐 탄화물인 것이 바람직하다.

Claims (10)

  1. 홀더의 표면위에 노출될 말단에서 반구형 형상을 가지는 연마 절단 요소에 있어서, 상기 절단 요소는 금속 기층에 결합된 연마 입자로 이루어진 연마 절단층으로 구성되고, 절단 요소와 금속 기층간의 접촉면은 접선 사면을 형성하며, 접선 사면의 평면은 금속 기층의 원통형 부분의 표면의 평면에 대해서 5°내지 85°의 각도를 형성하는 연마 절단 요소.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 접면 사면 이외의 접촉면의 나머지 부분은 원추형 또는 평면으로 된 연마 절단 요소.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 연마 절단 층은 다결정 다이아몬드로 구성되는 연마 절단 요소.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 연마 절단 요소는 입방 붕소 질화물로 구성되는 연마 절단 요소.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 절단 요소의 금속 기층은 IVB기, VB기 및 VIB기 금속 탄화물로 구성된 그룹으로부터 선택되는 연마 절단 요소.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 금속 기층은 텅스텐 탄화물인 연마 절단 요소.
  7. 제1항에 있어서, 접선 사면의 각도는 30°내지 75°인 연마 절단 요소.
  8. 제1항에 있어서, 접선 사면의 각도는 40°내지 55°인 연마 절단 요소.
  9. 샤프트, 다수의 노출된 연마 절단 요소를 상기 샤프트의 한쪽 말단에 있는 크라운을 포함하되, 상기 절단 요소는 연마 표면을 가지며, 절단 요소의 노출된 부분은 반구형으로 된 드릴 비트에 있어서, 연마 절단층으로 이루어진 절단 요소는 금속 기층에 결합된 연마 입자로 구성되고, 절단 요소와 금속 기층간의 접촉면은 접선 사면을 가지며, 접선 사면의 평면은 금속 기층의 원통형 부분의 표면의 평면에 대해서 5°내지 85°의 각도를 형성되는 절단 팁.
  10. 제9항에 있어서, 상기 드릴 비트는 회전식 드릴 비트 또는 드래그 드릴 비트인 드릴 비트.
