Abstract

에지 커넥터(10)는 결합 에지(90) 및 상기 에지 근처에 복수개의 접촉 패드(92, 94)를 갖는 인쇄 회로 기판(89)용으로 구비된다. 상기 커넥터는 인쇄 회로 기판의 결합 에지를 수납하기 위한 기판 수납 슬롯(14)을 갖는 긴 유전체 하우징(12)을 포함한다. 복수개의 스프링 접촉 요소(50, 54)가 슬롯의 적어도 한 쪽을 따라서 하우징에 장착된다. 상기 스프링 접촉 요소(50, 54)는 인쇄 회로 기판 상의 각각의 접촉 패드에 접촉하도록 하기 위해서 슬롯 연장되는 제1 스프링 접촉부(54a, 54b)를 갖는다. 슬롯의 한 면에서 하우징의 표면(56)은 데이타 면을 형성하는 데 그 위로 적어도 하나의 스프링 접촉 요소의 스프링 접촉부가 슬롯으로 연장된다. 여러 스프링 접촉 요소는 표면에 대해서 인쇄 회로 기판을 편의시키기 위한 단일 호형 형상으로 된 제2 스프링 접촉부(58)를 포함하고, 이것에 의해서 제1 스프링 접촉부를 소정량 만큼 변형시킨다.

Claims (8)

  1. 결합 에지 및 상기 에지 근처에 복수개의 접촉 패드를 갖는 인쇄 회로 기판을 수납하도록 되어 있으며, 인쇄 회로 기판의 상기 결합 에지를 수납하기 위한 기판 수납 슬롯과, 상기 슬롯의 적어도 한 쪽을 따라서 하우징에 장착되며 인쇄 회로 기판의 한면에서 각각의 접촉 패드와 접촉하기 위해 슬롯 내로 연장되는 제1 스프링 접촉부와 스프링 접촉 요소의 제1 스프링 접촉부가 관통하여 슬롯으로 연장되는 데이타 면을 형성하는 상기 슬롯의 상기 한쪽의 하우징 표면과 인쇄 회로 기판을 기판의 상기 한면에 대향하는 면에 접촉시키기 위해 슬롯내로 연장되고 상기 기판의 한면을 상기 데이타 면과 상기 제1 스프링 접촉부에 대해서 편의시키기 위해서 슬롯으로 연장된 제2 스프링 접촉부를 구비한 복수개의 스프링 접촉 요소를 갖고, 상기 제1 및 제2 스프링
    접촉부는 기부로부터 돌출하며, 각각의 스프링 접촉 요소는 상기 제1 및 제2 스프링접촉부를 포함하는 단일 구조로 되어 있는 유전체 하우징을 포함하는 모서리 커넥터에 있어서, 상기 제2 스프링 접촉부는 일반적으로 C 형상으로 되어 있으며 기부의 상대적으로 넓은 기단부로부터 인쇄회로 기판에 접촉하는 접촉 영역에 인접한 상대적으로 좁은 말단부까지 폭이 균일하게 감소되는 형식으로 스프링 접촉부의 기부로부터 연장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 일반적으로 C 형상의 제2 스프링 접촉부는 일반적으로 원형 내측 에지 및 상기 내면 에지 보다 큰 반경으로 형성된 일반적으로 원형인 외측 에지를 포함하며, 상기 에지의 곡률 중심은 오프셋되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 일반적으로 C 형상의 제2 스프링 접촉부의 접촉 영역은 제1 및 제2 스프링 접촉부 사이의 인쇄회로 기판의 결합 에지를 안내하는 것을 보조하기 위해 외향으로 확장된 팁을 갖는 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 스프링 접촉 요소는 접지 접촉 요소 및 기판 수납 슬롯의 각각 길이 방향으로 변화하는 신호 접촉 요소를 포함하며, 상기 스프링 접촉 요소는 일반적으로 그곳을 따라 정렬된 긴 하우징에서 돌출된 기판 장착 다리부를 가지며, 상기 접지 접촉 요소의 기판 장착 다리부는 신호 접촉 요소용 보호 수단을 제공하기 위해서 신호 접촉 요소의 기판 장착 다리부보다 큰 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  5. 제4항에 있어서, 스프링 접촉 요소의 기판 장착 다리부는 직각으로 꺽인 표면 장착 납땜 미부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  6. 제1항에 있어서, 적어도 일부의 스프링 접촉 요소의 기부가 적절한 삽입 공구에 의해서 결합하도록 된 공구 결합 견부 수단을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  7. 제6항에 있어서, 상기 스프링 접촉 요소가 하우징의 장착 구멍에 삽입 가능한 미늘부를 포함하고, 상기 공구 결합 수단이 일반적으로 접촉 삽입 방향으로 미늘부와 정렬된 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
  8. 제7항에 있어서, 상기 견부가 접촉 삽입 방향에 대향하는 방향으로 돌출한 탭에 의해서 형성되는 것을 특징으로 하는 에지 커넥터.
