Abstract

The method involves separating unrolled veins from leaf material, conditioning them and then pre-cutting. The separated leaf material is also conditioned. The veins and leaf material are then mixed together and commonly cut and dried. The veins before or after the pre-cut and-or the leaf material, after conditioning, are provided with casing. The veins before pre-cutting are conditioned at a humidity of approximately 24%. The conditioned veins before pre-cutting are stored for approximately 2 hours, in a closed casing.
