Abstract
본 발명은, 광시야각에서 스메어의 발생이 없는 고화질을 양립하는 가로전계방식의 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치를 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한 것이며, 그 구성에 있어서, 기판(7)위에 각 전극이 액정층에 대해 실질적으로 기판(7)과 평행한 전계 (9)를 인가할 수 있도록 구성되고, 상기 액정층의 배향상태에 의해 광학특성을 변화시키는 편광판(8)을 가지고, 기판(7)위의 영상신호전극(3)에 대해 평행으로 형성된 차광막을 구비하고, 이 차광막의 비저항은 108Ωㆍ㎝ 미만인 것을 특징으로 한 것이다.

제2도는 본 발명의 가로전계방식에 있어서의 액정의 동작을 표시한 도면.
Claims (8)
1쌍의 기판과 상기 1쌍의 기판에 끼워유지된 액정층을 가지고, 상기 1쌍의 기판의 한쪽과 상기 액정층의 사이에는, 복수의 주사전극과, 그들에 매트릭스형상으로 교차하는 복수의 영상신호전극과, 상기 주사전극에 액티브소자를 개재해서 형성된 화소전극과, 상기 화소전극과 평행으로 형성된 공통전극을 가지고, 상기 화소전극과 상기 공통전극의 사이에서 기판에 대해서 평행으로 전계를 발생시키는 액정표시장치에 있어서, 상기 영상 신호전극을 가진 기판에 대향하는 기판위에, 상기 영상신호전극 및 상기 주사전극에 대해서 평행으로 차광막을 구비하고, 상기 영상신호전극에 평행으로 형성된 차광막의 적어도 그 일부의 비저항이 108Ωㆍ㎝ 미만인 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 영상신호전극에 대해 평행으로 형성된 차광막의 영상신호전극과의 대향부분의 비저항이 108Ωㆍ㎝ 미만인 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 영상신호전극에 대해 평행으로 형성된 차광막의 적어도 일부가 차광막의 비저항보다도 높은 비저항을 가진 재료로 덮어져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 영상신호전극에 대해 평행으로 형성된 차광막의 적어도 일부가 108Ωㆍ㎝ 이상의 비저항을 가진 재료로 덮어져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제2항에 있어서, 상기 영상신호전극에 대해 평행으로 형성된 차광막의 영상신호전극과의 대향부분을 제외하는 부분이 비저항이 108Ωㆍ㎝ 이상의 재료로 덮여져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 주사전극에 대해 평행으로 형성된 차광막이 비저항이 108Ωㆍ㎝ 이상인 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 영상신호전극에 대해서 평행으로 형성된 차광막의 전위가 상기 공통전극의 전위와 동일한 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
제1항에 있어서, 상기 차광막이 금속 또는 카본의 입자를 함유하는 유기고분자 재료로 형성되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액티브매트릭스형 액정표시장치.
