차량용 교류발전기는 차량 내의 전기시스템과 밧데리에 전류를 공급하게 되는 것으로 그 구조는 제1도에서와 같이 풀리(11)와 회전자(12)가 장착된 회전자축(13)과 상기 회전축(13)과 풀리(11) 사이에 설치된 후론트베어링(14)과 상기 풀리 반대측에 설치된 리어베어링(15)과 상기 회전자(12)의 외주부를 감싸는 고정자(16), 회전자(12)와 고정자(16)를 지지하는 1쌍의 브래킷(17)과 브래킷(17) 내측에 설치된 정류기(18) 및 전압조정장치(19)로 구성되고 회전자(12)와 리어베어링(15) 사이에는 제2도에서와 같이 브러쉬(2)가 브러쉬홀드(5) 내에서 스프링(4)으로 탄지되게 고정지지되고, 하부에 슬립링(1)이 슬립링가이드(3)에 감싸여 브러쉬(2)와 섭동하며 전류를 공급하게 되어 있는데 이때 슬립링가이드(3) 내에는 고정체인 브러쉬(2)와 회전체인 슬립링(1)이 섭동함에 따라 회전마찰이 발생되어 브러쉬(2) 마모분이 발생하게 되고 상기 브러쉬 마모분이 슬립링 가이드(3)의 안쪽 한 곳에 집진됨에 따라 +축 브러쉬와 -축 브러쉬간 또는 +축 브러쉬와 브라켓 간에 단락 현상이 발생하는 불량이 발생하게 된다.The vehicle alternator supplies electric current to the electric system and the battery in the vehicle.
