Abstract

본 발명은 CRT 와 이중 패널 이중 드라이브 LCD에 화상을 동시에 표현하기 위한 LCD 제어기에 관한 것으로, 종래의 CRT를제어하는 확장 그래픽 제어기(1)와 입력받은 수평 동기 신호, 수직 동기 신호, 수평 공백 신호, 수직 공백 신호, 화소 클럭 신호, 메모리 클럭 신호, LCD 제어 정보 신호를 이용하여 라인 펄스(line pulse)신호, 쉬프트 클럭 신호(shiftclock), 최초선 표시 신호(first line marker)를 출력하는 LCD 제어기(2); 디스플레이 메모리(display memory)(3); 프레임 버퍼(frame buffer)(4)를 구비하며, CRT와 LCD에 화상을 동시에 디스플레이 하고자 할때 기존의 그래픽 제어기에 관계없이 추가로 사용할 수 있으므로 LCD를 표시 장치로 사용하는 휴대용 컴퓨터의 그래픽 제어기 설계를 간단히 할 수 있으며, 그래픽 제어기가 처리하는 디스플레이 모드가 기존의 제어기보다 더 많아질 수 있어 그래픽 제어 장치의 성능이 개선된다.

Claims (4)

  1. CRT와 LCD 모듈에 화상을 동시에 제어하기 위한 이중 패널 이중 드라이브 그래픽 제어 시스템은, 확장 그래픽 제어기; 상기의 확장 그래픽 제어기로부터 화소 데이터, 수직·수평 동기 신호, 수직·수평 공백 신호, 화소 클럭 신호, 메모리 클럭 신호, 및 LCD 제어 정보 신호를 입력받아 라인 펄스 신호, 쉬프트 클럭 신호, 최초선 표시 신호, 상위·하위 패널 데이터를 출력하고, 프레임 버퍼에 데이터를 저장하고 프레임 버퍼로부터 데이터를 읽어오는 LCD 제어기를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 CRT 및 LCD를 동시에 저이하기 위한 이중 패널 이중 드라이브 그래픽 제어 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, LCD 제어기는, 외부의 그래픽 제어기로부터 수직·수평 동기 신호, 수직·수평 공백 신호 및 LCD 제어 정보를 입력받아 LCD 디스플레이를 위한 제어 신호를 생성하여 출력하는 전체 제어부; 상기 외부의 그래픽 제어기로부터 디지털 화소 데이터를 입력받아 상기 전체 제어부의 제어에 따라 LCD 모듈의 형태에 맞는 데이터로 재배치시켜 출력하는 데이터 리매핑부; 상기 데이터 리매핑부에서 출력되는 리매핑된 데이터를 입력받아 상기 전체 제어부의 제어와 메로리 제어 신호에 따라 프레임 버퍼 데이터를 입·출력하는 프레임 버퍼 제어부; 및 상기 데이터 리매핑부와 프레임 버퍼 제어부의 출력 신호를 입력받아 전체 제어부에서 제공하는 제어 신호를 입력받아 LCD를 구동하기 위한 상위·하위 패널 데이터, 라인 펄스 신호, 쉬프트 클럭신호 및 최초선 표시 신호를 출력하는 LCD 인터페이스부를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 CRT 및 LCD를 동시에 제어하기 위한 이중 패널 이중 드라이브 그래픽 제어 장치.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 LCD 인터페이스부는, 상기 프레임 버퍼 제어부와 전체 제어부로부터 입력받은 프레임 버퍼 데이터와 제어 신호를 입력받아 상위 라인 버퍼 신호와 하위 라인 버퍼 신호를 출력하는 라인버퍼; 상기 데이터 리매핑부로부터 입력받은 CRT데이터와 상기 라인 버퍼로부터의 상위 라인 버퍼 신호, 하위 라인 버퍼 신호를 입력받아 상위 패널 데이터와 하위 패널 데이터를 출력하는 데이터 경로 제어기; 상기 전체 제어부로부터 입력받은 제어 신호를 입력받아 라인 펄스, 쉬프트 클럭 신호, 최초선 표시 신호를 출력하는 제어 신호 발생기를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 CRT 및 LCD를 동시에 제어하기 위한 이중 패널 이중 드라이브 그래픽 제어 장치.
  4. 제3항에 있어서, 프레임 버퍼 데이타 신호와 상위 쓰기 신호, 읽기 신호를 입력으로 받아 상위 라인 버퍼 신호를 출력하는 상위 라인 버퍼; 상기 프레임 버퍼 데이터와 하위 쓰기 신호, 읽기 신호를 입력으로 받아 들여 하위 라인 버퍼 신호를 출력하는 하위 라인 버퍼를 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 CRT 및 LCD를 동시에 제어하기 위한 이중 패널 이중 드라이브 그래픽 제어 장치.
