Abstract

본 발명은 컴퓨터 시스템에서, 특히 외부로부터 인가되는 디지탈 영상신호의 전화면 디스플레이 모드시 디스플레이 되는영상에 고 해상도의 화질을 제공하고, 부분화면의 디스플레이 모드시 저 용량의 프레임 메모리를 통해 서브(sub)영상을효과적으로 디스플레이 하도록 한 것이다.
본 발명은 PIP기능이 구비되는 컴퓨터 시스템에서 저 용량의 프레임 메모리와 소정의 메모리 수단을 구비하여 외부로부터인가되는 영상신호를 전화면 디스플레이 함에 있어 압축/변조를 실행하지 않아 화질의 손실이 발생하지 않는 고 해상도의영상을 사용자에게 제공하고, 부분화면으로 디스플레이 할 시 외부로부터 인가되는 영상신호에 대하여 사용자가 화상을인식할 수 있는 소정의 압축/변조를 실행하므로 제작원가가 절감되고, 단일 보드를 통한 구현으로 사용에 신뢰성이 제공된다.

Claims (3)

  1. PIP 기능으로 전화면과 부분화면의 디스플레이 동작을 수행하는 컴퓨터 시스템에 있어서, 사용자의 디스플레이 모드 선택에 의해 메인 보드로부터 인가되는 제어신호와 VGA보드로부터 인가되는 동기신호에 따라영상신호의 디스플레이에 대한 전반적인 동작을 제어하는 중앙제어수단과, 상기 중앙 제어수단의 제어신호에따라 외부로부터 인가되는디지탈 영상신호를 전화면 또는 서브화면의 디스플레이에 적합한 상태로 처리하는제1영상신호 처리수단과, 상기 제1영상신호 처리수단으로부터 서브화면의 디스플레이를 위해 소정의 비율로압축/변조되어 인가되는 영상신호를 지정된 어드레스 번지에 저장하는 프레임 메모리수단과, 상기 프레임 메모리수단에 입, 출력되는 영상신호를 제어하는 프레임 메모리제어수단과, 상기 프레임 메모리수단으로 인가되는압축/변조된 영상신호를 설정된 비율로 신장/복조하여 디스플레이에적합한 신호로 처리하는 제2영상신호 처리수단과, 부분화면 모드시 상기 VGA보드로부터 인가되는 영상신호와 외부로부터인가되는 외부입력 영상신호를 오버랩하는 제1선택수단을 구비하되, 전화면 디스플레이 모드시 상기 제1영상신호 처리수단을 통해 인가되는 외부의 영상신호를 지정된 어드레스 번지에 저장하는 메모리수단과, 상기 메모리수단에 입,출력되는 영상신호를 제어하는 제어수단 및, 상기 중앙 제어수단의 제어신호에 따라 디스플레이 모드로 선택된 영상신호를오버랩하여 선택하는 제2선택수단을 더 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템의 영상처리장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 메모리수단은 버퍼 또는 FIFO로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템의 영상처리장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 프레임 메모리수단은 소정의 비율로 압축/변조되는 외부로부터의 영상신호가 서브화면에 디스플레이 될시 사용자가 화상을 인식할수 있는 데이터를 저장하는 저 용량의 메모리 소자로 이루어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 컴퓨터 시스템의 영상처리장치.
