Abstract

본 발명은 주문형 비데오(Video On Demand; VOD)등에 이용되는 비데오서버(Video Server)에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 디스크어레이에 수록되 있는 다수의 비데오신호를 원하는 가입자에게 공급해 주기 위한 장치에 있어서, 디스크어레이의 출력신호를 저장하는 보조기록매체와, 보조기록매체의 입·출력을 제어하는 콘트롤러, 및 디스크어레이 또는 보조기록매체로부터 신호를 인가받아 전송포맷에 맞추어 동기시켜 출력하는 메모리버퍼를 포함한다. 따라서, 본 발명은 보조기록매체를 사용하여 보다 많은 가입자에게 영화를 제공할 수 있는 효과를 갖는다.

Claims (3)

  1. 디스크어레이에 수록되 있는 다수의 비데오신호를 원하는 가입자에게 공급해 주기 위한 장치에 있어서, 상기 디스크어레이의 출력신호를 저장하는 보조기록매체; 상기 보조기록매체의 입·출력을 제어하는 콘트롤러; 및 상기 디스크어레이 또는 보조기록매체로부터 신호를 인가받아 전송포맷에 맞추어 동기시켜 출력하는 메모리버퍼를 포함하는 보조기록매체를 사용한 비데오서버.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 보조기록매체는 1개의 디스크에 1편의 비데오신호가 연속적으로 저장되는 것을 특징으로 하는 보조기록매체를 사용한 비데오서버.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 1편의 비데오신호는 소정시간단위로 가입자의 요구를 체크하여 빈도가 낮으면 상기 보조기록매체로부터 삭제되는 것을 특징으로 하는 보조기록매체를 사용한 비데오서버.
