Abstract

본 발명은 퍼스널 컴퓨터의 FDD(Floppy Disk Drive) 제어장치에 관한 것이다.
종래의 FDD 제어회로는 키보드 콘트롤러를 이용하여 3모드 FDD를 제어하므로 키보드 콘트롤러의 출력핀중 일부를 3모드 FDD 제어용으로 할당해주어야 한다. 따라서, 키보드 콘트롤러의 해당 출력핀을 다른 용도로 사용할 수 없게되어 키보드 콘트롤러에 다른 다양한 기능을 추가 할 수 없게 되는 문제점이 있고, 시스템마다 키보드 콘트롤러의 사용용도가 조금씩 다를 수 있기 때문에 모든 시스템에 공용으로 사용할 수 없는 문제점이 있었다.
본 발명은 키보드 콘트롤러를 사용하지 않고 PAL을 사용하여 3모드 FDD를 제어하므로 키보드 콘트롤러에 FDD 제어용 출력핀을 할당하지 않아도 되어 키보드 콘트롤러의 해당 출력핀을 다른 용도에 사용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 모든 시스템에 적용할 수 있다.

Claims (1)

  1. 퍼스널 컴퓨터의 FDD 제어장치에 있어서, 인가받은 어드레스, 데이터, 기록제어신호 및 어드레스 인에이블 신호에 따라 2HD 타입의 3.5인지 플로피 디스켓에 대응되는 제어신호를 3모드 FDD 측에 출력하는 PAL을 구비하는 것을 특징으로 하는 퍼스털 컴퓨터의 FDD 제어장치.
