Abstract

본 발명은 액정표시장치의 배향막 및 그 형성방법에 관한 것으로서, 액정표시장치의 광학적인 특성에서 시야각을 개선시키기 위하여, 액정표시장치용 기판 위에 배향막을 형성하는 공정과 ; 상기 배향막을 러빙하는 공정과 ; 상기 러빙한 배향막에 광경화성수지를 도포하는 공정과 ; 상기 배향막이 일정부분 노출되도록 상기 도포된 광경화성수지를 노광하는 공정과 ; 상기 노광공정 후 형성된 배향막 패턴을 2차러빙하는 공정과 ; 상기 2차러빙공정 후 남은 광경화성수지를 제거하는공정에 의해 제조되는 액정표시장치의 배향막처리에 관한 것이다.

제3도는 본 발명의 액정표시장치의 픽셀에 배향막이 형성되어 있는 것을 나타낸 평면도이고, 제4도는 본 발명의 액정표시장치의 배향막 형성방법의 공정순서를 나타낸 단면도이다.

Claims (5)

  1. 액정표시장치에 있어서, 인접한 다수의 화소(30)는 인접한 상기 화소들이 서로 다른 배향방향 및 경사각(31,32)을 가지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 배향막.
  2. 액정표시장치용 기판(40) 위에 배향막(41)을 형성하는 공정과 ; 상기 배향막(41)을 러빙하는 공정과 ; 상기 러빙한 배향막(41)에 광경화성수지(42)를 도포하는 공정과 ; 상기 배향막(41)이 일정부분 노출되도록 상기 도포된 광경화성수지(42)를 노광하는 공정과 ; 상기 노광공정 후 형성된 배향막(41) 패턴을 2차러빙하는 공정과 ; 상기 2차러빙공정 후 남은 광경화성수지(42)를 제거하는 공정으로 이루어져 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 배향막의 제조방법.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 배향막(41)은 500Å∼1500Å의 두께로 형성하는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의배향막의 제조방법.
  4. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 배향막(41) 패턴은 노출부위가 화소 단위로 되어 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 배향막의 제조방법.
  5. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 노광공정 후 형성된 배향막(41) 패턴을 2차러빙하는 공정은 1차러빙방법과 다를 수있으며, 그 러빙방향 및 액정의 트위스트 각도도 다를 수 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시장치의 배향막의 제조방법.
