Abstract

In the magnetic head positioning device for a mini disk player, a leaf spring part(3) comprising an S-shaped leaf spring(3A) and a channel-shaped plate(3B) is movably mounted on the base-plate of the player. The channel-shaped plate(3B) having a round brim is formed integrally with the S-shaped leaf spring(3A) fitting with a groove(2A) of the loaded cartridge(2). An arm(5) mounting the magnetic head(4) on its free end has a curved brim(5A) at the other end so as to be in contact with the round brim of the S-shaped leaf spring. A bracket(8) is coupled to the arm by a hinge(6). The magnetic head(4) moves in contact position with the disk surface when the S-shaped leaf spring exerts the spring force to push up the curved brim(5A) of the arm as a recording cartridge is loaded.
