Abstract

Water is removed from chlorodi-fluoromethane by contacting chlorodi-fluoromethane with absorbent solution containing calcium chloride in concentration of above 5 wt% at gas-liquid contacting equipment like packed tower, spray tower or plate tower. A very small amount of chlorodi-fluoromethane dissolving in the absorbent solution can be recovered by heating the absorbent solution to above 30 deg. C.
