Abstract
알콜의 대사경로는 위장관 또는 간에 존재하는 알콜 디하이드로게나제(alcohol dehydrogenase, 이하 ADH라 칭함)의 작용, 소포체에 존재하는 마이크로조말 에탄올 산화 복합체(microsomal ethanol oxidizing system, 이하 MEOS라 칭함)작용, 퍼옥시좀(peroxysome)에 존재하는 카탈라제(catalase)의 작용 등을 거쳐 이산화 탄소(CO2)와 물(H2O)로 분해된다.Metabolic pathways of alcohol include the action of alcohol dehydrogenase (hereinafter referred to as ADH) present in the gastrointestinal tract or liver, the microsomal ethanol oxidizing system (hereinafter referred to as MEOS) present in the endoplasmic reticulum, fur It is decomposed into carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) and water (H 2 O) through the action of catalase present in the oxysome (peroxysome).
간이나 위에 존재하는 ADH는 알콜과의 높은 친화력 때문에 알콜 유입시 가장 중요한 역할을 담당하는 효소이지만, 과량의 알콜 유입시에는 과도한 부하가 생성되어 그 작용이 원활하게 일어나지 못하고 대신 알콜에 대한 낮은 친화력을 가지고 있는 소포체의 MEOS가 알콜 신화에 대한 주요한 경로로서 작용한다. 그러나 이러한 체계를 이용하는 알콜 분해는 인체내 독성 작용을 나타내는 다량의 활성산소를 발생시키기 때문에 그것으로 인한 세포손상이 숙취의 주요 원인으로 생각된다.ADH, which is present in the liver or stomach, is the enzyme that plays the most important role in the influx of alcohol due to its high affinity with alcohol, but excessive influx produces excessive loads, which does not occur smoothly. 종래의 대부분의 알콜관련 연구는 간을 중심으로한 알콜분해 효소들에 많은 관심을 가졌으며, 최근들어 알콜 섭취로 활성산소가 발생한다는 논문이 발표되기 시작하였으나, 최근 국제학계에서 노화방지, 암예방으로 속속들이 발표되는 카로틴, 노화방지로 유명한 비타민 E(vitamin E, 이하 Vit-E라 함), 피로 회복제로 유명한 비타민 C(vitamin C, 이하 Vit-C라 함)등을 비교적 과량 투여함으로 숙취 및 알콜성 설사를 제거할 수 있다는 방안은 전혀 강구되어 있지 않았다. 카로틴, Vit-E, Vit-C 등의 항산화제의 비교적 과량이 투여에 의한 숙취제거 효과는 다음과 같이 생각한다. 알콜을 산화 시키는데 주로 사용되는 MEOS에서는 활성산소가 생기며, 미토콘드리아에서도 생기는데 이 때 생긴 활성산소는 체내에 존재하는 슈퍼옥사이드 디스뮤타제(superoxide dismutase, SOD)에 의하여 과산화수소가 된다. 이것은 다시 카타라제(catalase)에 의하여 물과 산소로 되는데, 어느 정도 이상의 알콜을 마시면 과잉의 활성산소가 발생하게 되어 SOD가 모자라게 되고 미처 무독화되지 못한 활성산소에 의하여 세포성분들이 파괴되고 이로 인하여 숙취가 초래되는 것으로 본다. 따라서 이러한 가정하에 항산화제로 유명한 카로틴, Vit-E, Vit-C를 젊은 청년들 중 평소 숙취를 느끼는 사람들만 선별하여 주량 최도로 소주와 맥주를 음용시켜 두통 편두통 등의 숙취를 조사하였던 바, 카로틴의 경우는 85%, Vit-E는 90%, Vit-C는 75%가 두통을 느끼지 않게 되었다. 뿐만아니라 알콜성 설사의 경우도 이들 실험에서 상단히 호전되었는데 그 효과는 Vit-E, 카로틴, Vit-C순이며, 그외 비타민과 아미노산이 이들의 효과를 증진시켜준다.Most of the previous researches on alcohol have been focused on alcohol-degrading enzymes centered on the liver, and recently, a study on the generation of free radicals by alcohol consumption has been published, but recently in international studies, anti-aging and cancer prevention Carotene, which is widely released in the body, and vitamin E (vitamin E), also known as anti-aging, and vitamin C (vitamin C, also known as Vit-C), a fatigue-relieving agent.
