본 발명은 순수한 2채널 신호만을 이용하여 서라운드 채널과 중간 채널 신호를 생성하기에 적당하도록 한 장치에 관한 것으로, 종래에는 4채널 신호를 입력받아 2채널 신호를 생성하고 다시 수신단에서 4채널 신호를 생성하므로 수신단의 구조가 복잡하였으나, 본 발명에서는 2채널 스테레오 신호를 사용하여 이를 합산한 후 스펙트럼 계산기(3)에서 크기로 계산하고 모드 판별기(4)에서 모드를 판별하여 지연시킨 성분과 지연시키지 않은 성분은 저역통과 필터부(6)에서 각각 필터링하고 좌우채널 신호와 필터링된 신호를 아날로그 신호로 디코딩하여 증폭시킨 상태에서 4개의 신호로 출력시키므로 수신단의 구조를 간략화시키도록 한 것이다.The present invention relates to an apparatus suitable for generating a surround channel and an intermediate channel signal using only pure two channel signals.
