Abstract

본 발명은 녹화에 사용하려는 녹화 대상 테이프가 공백 또는 블랭크 테이프인지를 판별하는 방법에 관한 것이다.
종래 테이프에 기록할 때는 블랭크 테이프 여부를 판단하기 위해 반드시 재생하여 확인해 보아야 한다. 본 발명은 테이프를 데크를 새로이 장착할 때 그 테이프를 고속전진후 후진시키면서 그 테이프로부터 콘트롤 신호를 판단함으로써 블랭크 테이프 여부를 자동으로 판단한다. 또한, 그 상태를 판단할 때 이미 녹화된 귀중한 내용의 소실을 방지하기 위하여 특정표시 신호를 발생할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명은 하나의 데크를 가지는 VCR뿐 아니라 두 개이상의 데크를 가진 멀티데크 VCR에서도 적용 가능하다.

Claims (5)

  1. 프로그램 메모리 수단 및 데이터 메모리 수단을 가지며, 표시수단(22)을 구동시키는 타이머 마이콤(10)과, 테이프가 장착되며 테이프의 구동과 관련한 메카니즘을 가지는 적어도 하나의 데크(18)와, 상기 데크(18)를 제어하며 상기 타이머 마이컴(10)으로 데크의 상태를 전달하며 상기 타이머 마이컴(10)으로부터 작용신호를 수신하는 적어도 하나의 서보/시스콘 마이컴(15)을 포함하는 VCR의 블랭크 테이프 판별 방법에 있어서, 상기 데크(18)내에 녹화에 사용하려는 녹화 대상 테이프가 새로이 장착되었을 때, 상기 테이프를 사전설정된 시간동안 빠른 속도로 전진시키는 모드를 수행하는 단계와; 상기 전진시킨 테이프를 상기 사전설정된 시간동안 빠른 속도로 되감는 모드를 수행하는 단계와; 상기 되감기 모드를 수행하면서 상기 테이프로부터 콘트롤 신호를 검출하는 단계를 포함함으로써 녹화 대상 테이프의 기록상태를 식별하는 것을 특징으로 하는 블랭크 테이프 판별 방법.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 녹화 대상 테이프로부터 상기 콘트롤 신호가 검출될 때, 녹화된 내용이 없음을 나타내는 제1표시와, 상기 콘트롤 신호가 검출되지 않을 때 녹화된 내용이 없음을 나타내는 제2표시를 발생하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 블랭크 테이프 판별 방법.
  3. 제2항에 있어서, 상기 제1 및 제2표시는 각가그이 상기 콘트롤 신호 검출 유무 신호에 응답하여 상기 메모리내의 각각의 특정 영역내에 그 상태에 대응하는 데이터로 세트되며 상기 디지트론(22)상에 표시하는 것을 특징으로 하는 블랭크 테이프 판별 방법.
  4. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 테이프가 장착된 데크(18)가 녹화 모드를 제외한 어떠한 모드에서 작동중일 때, 상기 메모리 수단내에 세트된 데이터를 참조함으로써, 상기 장착된 테이프의 블랭크 여부를 판단하는 단계를 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 블랭크 테이프 판별 방법.
  5. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 VCR은 상기 단계들이 동일하게 반복적으로 수행될 수 있는 제2데크(28)와, 제2서보/시스콘 마이콤(25)을 더 포함하는 것을 특징으로 하는 더블 데크 VCR인 블랭크 테이프 판별 방법.
