Abstract

영상 신호는 일반적으로 수평, 수직의 이차원적인 상관성을 가지고 있으나, 특히 수평 혹은 수직 하나의 일차원적으로 상관성이 다른 한쪽의 상관성보다 매우 높은 경우를 가질 경우도 있다. 본 발명에서는 이러한 영상신호의 성질을 이용하여 고품질의 영상신호를 얻기 위하여 별개의 경로로 수평, 수직 및 이차원 DCT를 동시에 행하도록 포멧터와 각 DCT를 설치하고, 동시에 양자화 과정에서 발생되는 DCT 계수의 왜곡을 비교 검토하여 가장 왜곡이 적은 경로를 선택하고, 각각의 입력 배열에 적합한 각기 다른 주사 방법과 각기 다른 VLC 테이블을 가진다.

Claims (3)

  1. 디지틀 영상 신호를 압축된 형태로 전송하기 위하여 상기 디지틀 영상신호를 처리하는 장치에 잇어서, 상기 디지틀 영상 신호의 1차원적 수평 상관성을 이용할 수 있는 데이타 포멧으로 제공되는 일련의 화소 데이타를 제1경로로 압축하여 제1 압축 부호화된 신호를 제공하는 제1 수단과, 상기 디지틀 영상 신호의 1차원적 수직 상관성을 이용할 수 있는 데이타 포멧으로 제공되는 일련의 화소 데이타를 제2 경로로 압축하여 제2 압축 부호화된 신호를 제공하는 제2수단과, 상기 디지틀 영상 신호의 2차원적 상관성을 이용할 수 있는 데이타 포멧으로 제공되는 일련의 화소 데이타를 제3 경로를 압축하여 제3 압축 부호화된 신호를 제공하는 제3 수단과, 상기 제1 수단과, 상기 제2수단 및 상기 제3 수단에 각각 연결되며, 상기 각 수단에서 압축 부호화할 때에 발생하는 왜곡을 계산하고, 왜곡이 적게 발생하는 경로의 신호를 선택하는 왜곡 계산 및 경로 선택 수단을 포함하는 적응적 영상 부호화 장치.
  2. 제1항에 있어서, 입력신호를 1차원적 수평 상관성을 이용할 수 있는 데이타포멧으로 데이타 배열을 변환시키는 제1 포맷터 수단(100)과 1차원적 수직 상관성을 이용할 수 있는 데이타 포맷으로 데이타 배열을 변환시키는 제2 포맷터 수단(110)을 더 포함하는 적응적 영상 부호화 장치.
  3. 제1항에 있어서, 상기 제1수단 및 상기 제2 수단은 각각의 상기 포맷터 수단으로부터 출력되는 데이타를 주파수 영역의 데이타로 변환시켜 변환 계수를 출력하는 변환 수단과, 상기 변환 계수를 유한한 갯수의 값으로양자화시켜 양자화 신호를 출력하는 양자화 수단과, 상기 양자화 신호를 각각의 상기 변환 수단에 대응되는 방식으로 1차원 신호로 바꾸는 주사 수단과, 상기 1차원 신호의 중복성을 제거하기 위하여 그 연속되는 길이를 부호화하는 줄길이 부호화 수단과, 상기 줄길이 부호화 수단에서 출력되는 부호를 그 발생 빈도에 의해 빈도가 높은 것은 짧은 길이의 부호로 빈도가 낮은 것은 긴 길이의 부호로 표시하는 가변 길이 부호화 수단을 포함하는 적응적 영상 부호화 장치.
