도면은 본 발명의 액정표시소자의 단면도.

본 발명은 칼라 액정 계기판에 관한 것으로, 특히 블랙마스크가 설치된 칼라필터를 액정표시판 뒷쪽에 배치하고 그 위에 형광체가 코팅된 투명기판을 부착하여 고 콘트라스트와 균일한 다색칼라 표시를 얻을 수 있는 액정표시소자에 관한 것이다.
종래에는 액정계기판을 제작하는데 있어서, 칼라필터를 계기판 전면에 형성하고, 백 라이트(Back light)를 계기판 뒷면에 위치시켜 표시를 하였었다. 상기한 구조로 된 액정계기판을 구동시키면 백라이트의 광이 균일하게 분산되지 않아 표시가 불균일하게 되었으며, 광투과량의 차이에 의해 선명한 칼라표시를 얻을 수 없을 뿐만 아니라 콘트라스트가 저하되는 문제점이 있었다.
따라서 본 발명은 상기 문제점을 해결하기 위한 액정표시소자로서, 칼라필터에 블랙마스크를 형성하여 액정계기판의 뒷면에 부착하고 형광물질이 코팅된 투명기판을 그 위에 설치하여 백 라이트에서 입사되는 광을 균일하게 분산시키므로써 선명한 고 콘트라스트를 얻으며 균일한 다색 칼라표시를 얻고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
이하에 첨부된 도면에 의하여 본 발명의 실시예를 상세히 설명한다.
본 발명의 액정표시소자의 단면도가 도시된 도면을 참조하여 제조공정을 설명하면 다음과 같다.
먼저, 액정계기판의 상, 하측 유리(2, 3)에 네가티브(Negative)형의 평광판(1, 4)을 각각 부착하고, 액정계기판의 뒷면인 상기 하측편광판(4)에 칼라필터(5)를 형성하며, 액정계기판의 콘트라스트를 향상시키기 위해 상기 칼라필터(5)에 블랙스트라이프(6)를 형성한다.
다음에, 투명기판(9)위에 녹색(Green)의 형광물질(7)과 연두색(Yellow green) 의 형광물질(8)을 각각 도포하여 칼라필터(5)에 부착하고, 백 라이트(12)인 할로겐 램프(Halogen lamp)를 투명기판(9) 윗면에 위치시킨다.
상기한 바와같은 방법으로 제조된 액정계기판에 백 라이트(12)를 점등시키면, 광이 형광물질(7)을 발광시키며, 블랙마스크(6)가 있는 부분은 차단되고 표시면(11)이 있는 부분의 칼라필터(5)를 통해 빛이 통과하므로 높은 콘트라스트의 칼라표시를 얻을 수 있으며, 형광물질을 사용하여 빛을 균일하게 분산시키므로 균일한 표시를 얻을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 칼라필터에 블랙 스트라이프가 형성되어 있어 고콘트라스트를 얻을 수 있다.

Claims (1)

  1. 상, 하측 유리(2, 3)에 상, 하측 편광판(1, 4)이 부착된 칼라액정표시판에 있어서, 상기 하측편광판(4)에 칼라필터(5)를 형성한 후 블랙마스크(6)를 형성하고, 투명기판(9)에 형광물질(7, 8)을 도포한 후 칼라필터(5)에 부착하여 구성되어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정표시소자.
