Abstract
Carbostyril derivs. (I; R1 = H, alkyl, phenyl alkyl; R2 = H, alkyl, phenyl alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, R3,R4 = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, phenylalkyl, phenoxyalkyl, heterocyclic alkyl; Y = IV, IV'; X = halogen), useful for tratment of bronchial asthma, were prepd. by reacting carbostyril compd. (II) with compd. (III) at 0- 100oC. Thus, 1-methyl-5-(2,3-epoxy propoxy)-8-benzyloxy-3,4-dihydro carbostyril 1.7 g was dissolved in the methanol 20 ml, benzylamine 1.6 ml was added, stirred for 4 hr at 40- 50oC and then evaporated. The residue was rfined and recrystallized to give compd.(I) (m.p. 155-157oC).
