Abstract
Lactic acid was refined by using a gas-liquid flow catalyst reaction esterification method. Thus, lactic acid, which was preliminary mixed with catalyst and lower alkyl having equiv. weight ratio 1:1 compared to lactic acid, was introduced to the upper part of a packing tower and disperse-dropped reducing the size of the packing tower, reaction time, and saving MeOH, which was introduced in the lower part of the tower. By using strong acidic ionexchange resin as hydrolysis catalyst, the catalyst can be reused without chemical treatment.
