Abstract
1520951 Mixing devices ENGELHARD MINERALS & CHEMICALS CORP 22 April 1976 [25 April 1975] 16249/76 Heading B1C [Also in Division Cl] In producing (NH 4 ) 2 SO 4 , O 2 or an O 2 - containing gas is intermixed with (NH 4 ) 2 SO 3 liquor in an autoclave comprising a tank 61, capped by a removable cover 62, the liquor being admitted through inlet 70 and the gas through 81. The hollow agitator shaft 76 has a plurality of inlet ports 82 above the liquid level and through which the gas is pulled centrifugally when the agitator is rotated, the gas issuing through ports 85 as minute bubbles in the liquor.
