Description
The present invention relates to a display device.
2. Description of the Related Art Various flat panel displays (FPDs) have been developed to reduce weight and volume, which are disadvantages of cathode ray tubes. Such a flat panel display may be a liquid crystal display (LCD), a field emission display (FED), a plasma display panel (PDP), an organic light emitting diode (OLED) Display, and an electroluminescence device (ED).
An apparatus for displaying a desired image by adjusting the light transmittance of liquid crystal cells arranged in a matrix form in accordance with image signal information is provided with an image on a display panel using light emitted from a backlight unit. .
The display device using such a principle has a tendency of widening its application range due to features such as light weight, thinness, and low power consumption driving.
According to this trend, the display device is used in office automation equipment, audio / video equipment, and the like.
Since a general liquid crystal display device is a non-emissive type display device, a backlight unit including a separate light source for irradiating light to the liquid crystal display panel is required.
A typical backlight unit includes a light source, a light guide plate, and optical sheets, and the light source, the light guide plate, and the optical sheets may be fastened to a rectangular panel-shaped guide panel.
In a typical display device, a liquid crystal display panel may be disposed on a guide panel, and a space below the guide panel may be spaced apart from the backlight unit by protrusions or pads, and flow of the components of the backlight unit may be prevented .
However, in general display devices, since the optical sheets and the light guide plate of the backlight unit are fixed by the pads, there is a problem that the flow of the optical sheets and the light guide plate, which are contracted or expanded by heat, can not be considered. Particularly, a general display device has a problem of causing deterioration of image quality of stain images, light leakage, etc. due to generation of foreign matter by friction between the optical sheets and the light guide plate.
The embodiment can provide a display device capable of stably supporting both the optical sheets and the light guide plate contraction or expansion.
Further, the embodiment can provide a display device capable of improving foreign matter generation due to friction between the optical sheets and the light guide plate.
In an embodiment, a display device includes a display panel, a guide panel below the display panel, a backlight unit including optical sheets housed in the guide panel, a light guide plate, and a reflection sheet, and at least one The optical sheets include a diffusion sheet at the lowermost portion and the edge of the diffusion sheet protrudes outwardly from the other sheets to form the first and second support portions and the guide panel, The first and second supporting portions can simultaneously press and support the diffusion sheet and the light guide plate. Therefore, the embodiment can improve the flow between the diffusion sheet and the light guide plate and the generation of foreign matter by friction. Embodiments can improve the generation of foreign objects between the diffusion sheet and the light guide plate, thereby improving the image quality such as a smear phenomenon and a light leakage.
Since the diffusion sheet disposed at the lowermost portion among the optical sheets overlaps with the first and second support portions so as to extend further outward than the other sheets, the first and second support portions simultaneously press and hold the diffusion sheet and the light guide plate, Can support. Therefore, the embodiment can improve the flow between the diffusion sheet and the light guide plate and the foreign matter generation due to friction, and can improve the image quality such as a stain phenomenon or a light leakage by foreign matter.
Still another embodiment can improve the stability of the pushing and supporting structure of the diffusion sheet by improving the detachment of the contact portion from the first support portion by the guide projection surrounding the contact portion directly in contact with the diffusion sheet.
Another embodiment can reduce the friction between the diffusion sheet, the light guide plate, and the reflective sheet at the time of contraction and expansion of the diffusion sheet, the light guide plate, and the reflection sheet by the first support having flexibility that wraps the diffusion sheet, the light guide plate and the reflection sheet .
Still further, another embodiment can stably support different shrinkage and expansion coefficients of the diffusion sheet, the light guide plate, and the reflection sheet without friction between them by the first support having flexibility.
