Description

Tire pressure alarm apparatus and method

The present invention relates to a tire pressure warning device and method, and more particularly, to an apparatus and method for performing a warning by checking the tire air pressure during driving.

Car owners neglect to check tire pressure. It requires regular maintenance, but it's easy to get past months if you don't like it.

Even tires that are intact for a long time will have a low natural pressure due to natural leakage. Tire pressure changes with external temperatures can also be ignored. And in winter, when the temperature is low, the leakage increases.

Accidents due to lack of tire pressure can lead to unexpected major accidents. Excess air pressure can also cause safety problems such as tire wear. If a high-speed driving for a long time in a state of high tire wear is likely to be damaged, even if the brakes in an emergency situation, the tire slips and the braking distance becomes longer.

Usually, the tire replacement time is about 50,000 km. Due to the relatively long replacement cycle and the difficulty of distinguishing the air pressure with the naked eye, it is insensitive to safety management.

Sudden change in tire pressure during driving is a matter that is directly related to life, so it requires constant attention.

The present invention has been proposed to solve the above problems, and provides a tire pressure warning device and method to warn not only the driver but also the neighboring drivers of the dangers caused by the pneumatic state of the tire while driving to prevent accidents in advance. There is a purpose.

Tire pressure warning device according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention to achieve the above object, the TPMS sensor for checking the air pressure of the tire of the vehicle, and outputs a step-by-step signal according to the air pressure; A TPMS receiver for receiving a step-by-step signal from the TPMS sensor; A lamp driver for driving a hazard lamp according to a received lamp blinking speed; And a controller for determining a blinking speed of the hazard lamp corresponding to the step-by-step signal and transmitting the same to the lamp driver.

Preferably, the tire inflation pressure display unit for displaying the tire inflation pressure checked by the TPMS sensor may be further included.

Tire pressure warning method according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the TPMS sensor, the step of checking the air pressure of the tire of the vehicle and outputs a step-by-step signal according to the air pressure; Determining, by the controller, a blinking speed of the hazard lamp corresponding to the stepwise signal; And flashing the hazard lamp according to the lamp blinking speed by the lamp driver.

Preferably, the method may further include displaying the tire air pressure checked by the TPMS sensor.

According to the present invention having such a configuration, by checking the air pressure of the tire while driving and performing a step-by-step ramp flash corresponding thereto, it is possible to warn not only the driver but also the surrounding drivers.

This prevents a chain collision accident due to tire damage while driving.

Even if the driver is not aware of the damage state of the tire, the driver will automatically warn the surrounding driver to prevent the collision.

It can be implemented through software logic modification, so there is no investment cost.

2 is a flowchart illustrating a tire air pressure warning method according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Hereinafter, with reference to the accompanying drawings, a tire air pressure warning apparatus and method according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described. Prior to the detailed description of the present invention, terms and words used in the present specification and claims should not be construed as limited to ordinary or dictionary terms. Therefore, the embodiments described in the specification and the drawings shown in the drawings are only one of the most preferred embodiments of the present invention and do not represent all of the technical idea of the present invention, various modifications that can be replaced at the time of the present application It should be understood that there may be equivalents and variations.

1 is a block diagram of a tire pressure warning apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention.

Tire air pressure warning device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a TPMS sensor 10, TMPS receiving unit 12, lamp drive unit 14, hazard lamp 16, control unit 18, and tire air pressure display unit 20 do.

The TPMS sensor 10 checks the air pressure of the tire of the vehicle and outputs a step-by-step signal according to the air pressure. The TPMS sensor 10 wirelessly outputs a stepwise signal according to the air pressure. Here, if it is assumed that the step signal is classified into, for example, five steps, the signal of the corresponding step is wirelessly output according to which step among the five air pressures is checked. In addition, the TPMS sensor 10 may wirelessly output a signal indicating the checked air pressure. Here, the signal representing the checked air pressure is a signal corresponding to the air pressure checked purely regardless of the above-described steps. For example, the TPMS sensor 10 is mounted inside the tire wheel.

The TPMS receiver 12 receives a step-by-step signal from the TPMS sensor 10. Of course, the TPMS receiver 12 may receive a signal indicating the checked air pressure output from the TPMS sensor 10.

The lamp driver 14 drives the hazard lamp 16 in accordance with the lamp blinking speed from the controller 18. Here, the hazard lamp 16 is installed at the front or the rear of the vehicle, so that the surrounding driver can check.

The controller 18 determines the flashing speed of the hazard lamp 16 corresponding to the step-by-step signal received from the TPMS receiver 12 and transmits the flashing speed to the lamp driver 14. Here, the flashing speed is changed according to the input step signal. For example, if the vehicle is inoperable, it flashes faster.

The tire air pressure display unit 20 displays the tire air pressure checked by the TPMS sensor 10. For example, the tire inflation pressure display portion 20 is provided in the instrument panel in front of the driver's seat.

Next, the operation of the tire pressure warning device according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the flowchart of FIG. 2.

First, the TPMS sensor 10 checks the tire air pressure (S10).

Then, the TPMS sensor 10 wirelessly outputs the step-by-step signal according to the checked air pressure (S12). Here, the step signal may be classified into five steps, for example, as described above. Accordingly, the signal of the corresponding stage is wirelessly output according to which stage among the checked air pressures belongs.

Subsequently, the TPMS receiver 12 receives a step-by-step signal from the TPMS sensor 10 (S14). The received step-by-step signal is transmitted to the control unit 18.

The controller 18 determines which step the input signal corresponds to. That is, the control unit 18 has previously stored a step range which is a reference. Accordingly, it is possible to determine which reference step range the input step signal belongs to.

After determining which signal corresponds to which step, the controller 18 determines the lamp blinking speed according to the corresponding step signal and transmits it to the lamp driver 14 (S16). Here, the lamp flashing speed is changed according to the input step signal.

The lamp driver 14 blinks the hazard lamp 16 in accordance with the input lamp flashing speed (S18). Here, the lamp blinking speed increases or decreases according to the degree of danger. For example, the lamp blinking speed increases as the tire air pressure is inoperable.

On the other hand, although not shown in Figure 2, the tire inflation pressure display unit 20 displays the tire inflation pressure checked by the TPMS sensor 10 so that the driver can visually check.

The present invention is not limited only to the above-described embodiments, but may be modified and modified without departing from the scope of the present invention. .
