The present invention relates to a container having a particular application as a container for consumer goods such as, for example, long smoking articles. The invention also relates to a corresponding blank for such a container.

Containers and blanks for smoking articles are known in the art, for example, in international patent application WO-A-2009 / 020383. This international patent application discloses a container for smoking articles formed from one blank. The blank includes several panels. According to the invention, there is provided a container comprising a cup-shaped box and a lid connected to the cup-shaped box, the container further comprising a front wall adjacent the box side wall.
