Abstract
본 발명은 무선 커넥티비티(connectivity) 기술을 이용하여 전자기기를 무선 충전 시스템에 관한 발명으로, 전자기기가 엑세스 포인트의 전파를 스캐닝(scanning)하는 단계; 주파수 대역중 사용 가능한 주파수 대역를 결정하는 단계; 엑세스 포인트에게 상기 충전 주파수 대역으로 충전용 전파를 전송할 것을 요청하는 단계; 및 안테나에서 출력되는 전력을 배터리 회로로 스위칭하는 단계를 포함한다.
Description
본 발명은 무선 커넥티비티(connectivity) 기술을 이용한 전자기기 무선 충전 시스템에 관한 발명이다.
본 발명은 무선 전력 송수신용 전파 시스템에 관한 것이다. 보다 상세히는 특히 배터리를 사용하는 핸드폰, 무선 인터넷 단말기, 스마트폰, PDA을 위시한 각종 이동성 통신기기, 노트북, 랩탑, 팜탑 컴퓨터를 위시한 모바일 컴퓨터, 휴대용 프린터, 라디오 및 MP3 플레이어·카세트를 위시한 각종 휴대용 오디오·비디오 기기, 공중파 TV, 휴대용 카드 결제기, 전기 자동차, 전기 자전거, 전기 스쿠터, 전기 보트, 로봇, 장난감, 공구류, 무인카메라, 캠코더, 비행기, 우주선, 인공위성 및 기타 배터리를 주전력원으로 사용하는 이동성 기기 장치 또는 유선 방식의 전선을 설치하기 어려운 지역이나 장소에서의 각종 기기 장치 등의 사용이나 작동에 필요한 전력원을 이들 이동성 기기 장치 및 고정식 기기 장치에 사용되는 고유의 전용 전파 또는 별도 방식의 전파에 전력 에너지를 전원성 전파 형태로 변환 후 이를 싣거나 변조 송수신 하므로서 이들 기기 장치에 별도의 전원 공급 장치가 없이도 필요한 전력을 무선 방식에 의해 무제한 지속적으로 송수신할 수 있는 무선 전력 송수신용 전파 시스템 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다.
이는 특히 핸드폰 등의 이동 통신 기기에 있어서, 배터리의 신기술 개발에도 불구하고 배터리의 단점인 사용시간이 한정적이라는 근본적인 문제는 언젠가는 해결해야 할 난제 중에 난제라고 할 수 있는 것이다.
따라서 본 발명에서는 종래의 배터리가 갖고 있는 이러한 사용 시간의 제한성을 극복 해결하고 나아가서는 지속적으로 전력 공급을 할 수 있는 통상의 전파 시스템을 응용한 전력의 무선 공급 방식을 제시하게 된 것이다.
또한 지금까지 공지된 본 발명과 관련된 기술을 보면 우주 공간에서 태양광 발전을 통해 얻은 전력 에너지를 마이크로파로 변환시켜 지상의 특정 지점으로 송신하거나, 경량의 항공기 등에 이러한 기술을 응용하여 필요한 전기 에너지를 공급하는 기술이 개발되고 있다.
이러한 방식은 전력 에너지 그 자체만을 마이크로파로 변환하여 송수신하고자 하는 방식으로 주로 우주 공간에서 얻은 대용량의 전력을 지상으로 송신하기 위해 사용되며, 여기에서 사용되는 전력이 변환된 마이크로파는 주로 거의 빛에 가까운 직선형으로서 가시거리 내에서만 사용이 가능하고, 무엇보다도 무선 통달 거리의 제한성, 별도의 송수신 설비 및 기지국이나 중계소 구축의 필요성 및 사용 용도에 있어서도 한정된 특수 용도로 사용되고 있는 것이다.
따라서 본 발명에서는 이동 통신 기기에서나 여러 용도로 사용되고 있는 범용성을 가진 통상의 광대역 또는 협대역의 데이터 송수신용 전파 또는 반송파에 전력을 전파로 변환시킨 전원성 전파를 싣거나 포함시켜 변조 송수신하므로 적어도 이들 이동성 기기 장치를 사용하는데 있어서 별도의 배터리 충전 없이도 전력 에너지의 보다 안정적이며, 지속적인 공급 문제를 해결하고자 하는 것이다.
위와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위해 본 발명은 전자기기가 엑세스 포인트의 전파를 스캐닝(scanning)하는 단계; 주파수 대역중 사용 가능한 주파수 대역를 결정하는 단계; 엑세스 포인트에게 상기 충전 주파수 대역으로 충전용 전파를 전송할 것을 요청하는 단계; 및 안테나에서 출력되는 전력을 배터리 회로로 스위칭하는 단계를 포함한다.
이때, 위 전파는 무선 랜일 수 있다. 또한 충전용 전파는 바이너리 데이터를 최대 값으로 세팅될 수 있다. 전자기기의 충전이 완료되면, 안테나에서 출력되는 신호를 디코딩하는 회로로 전환될 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 무선 충전 시스템은 기존의 이동 통신 기기 및 PDA, 휴대용 오디오 및 비디오 기기, 공중파 TV, 모바일 컴퓨터, 전기 자동차, 전기 자전거, 로봇, 장난감, 공구류, 청소기, 캠코더, 기차, 선박류, 항공기, 우주선, 인공위성 및 기타 배터리를 사용하는 이동성 기기 장치 등의 사용이나 작동에 필요한 전력 에너지 공급 문제에 있어서 시간과 공간적인 제약을 근본적으로 해결할 수 있는 방안으로서 이들 기기 장치의 배터리 장치의 축소, 초소형화 내지는 생략으로 이동성 기기 장치의 추가적인 경량, 경박, 단소화가 가능하며, 또한 필요한 전력의 무선 방식의 지속적인 공급이 가능하고, 아무리 거리가 먼 원격지에도 전파가 미치는 장소에는 전력을 무선 방식으로 보낼 수 있으므로, 각종 이동성 기기의 사용 장소 및 사용 시간에 있어서 전원의 제약을 받지 않는 장점이 있다.
또한 본 발명에서 사용되는 DC 형태의 전력은 저장이 가능하므로 송신소에서는 저비용의 심야 전기를 활용할 수 있으며, 이동성 기기 장치의 전력 에너지 요청 신호에 따라 무선 방식의 전기를 공급하므로 불필요한 전력의 낭비가 없고, 무선 전력 송신 시스템의 장비나 시설에 있어서도 기존의 주파수대 및 송신 시스템과 기지국 및 중계기 등의 시설을 그대로 활용할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

이하 본 발명의 바람직한 실시 예를 첨부된 도면을 참조하여 상세히 설명한다. 그리고, 본 발명을 설명함에 있어서, 관련된 공지기능 혹은 구성에 대한 구체적인 설명이 본 발명의 요지를 불필요하게 흐릴 수 있다고 판단된 경우 그 상세한 설명은 생략한다. 그리고 후술되는 용어들은 본 발명에서의 기능을 고려하여 정의된 용어들로서 이는 사용자, 운용자의 의도 또는 관례 등에 따라 달라질 수 있다. 그러므로 그 정의는 본 명세서 전반에 걸친 내용을 토대로 내려져야 할 것이다.
도 1은 무선 랜을 이용하여 단말기를 무선으로 충전하는 시스템의 블럭도이다. 단말기(10) 내부는 무선 랜(1)을 수신할 수 있는 안테나(2)와 무선 랜 신호와 충전신호를 구별하여 경로를 전환할 수 있는 스위치(11), 특정 주파수에 따라 매칭이 변하여 DC 성분을 추출하는 공진기(12), 추출된 DC를 단말기의 메인 전원으로 승압하는 전력 승압기(Voltage multiplier,13)로 구성되어 있다. 승압기(13)의 출력은 단말기의 충전전압으로 사용된다.
도 2는 무선 랜을 통하여 무선 충전하는 단말의 방법에 대한 흐름도이다.
도면을 참고하면, 단말은 첫 번째 단계(21)에서 무선 랜을 스캐닝(scanning)하여 주위 무선 랜 장비를 검색하고, 두 번째 단계(22)에서 상기 검색된 무선 랜 장비들을 현재 사용중인 장비와 충전에 이용할 수 있는 장비로 구별하여 충전에 이용 가능한 장비가 주변에 있는지 판단한다.
상기 스캐닝한 결과 무선 충전이 가능한 엑세스 포인트가 존재할 경우, 상기 단말은 세 번째 단계(23)에서 충전 주파수 결정한다. 이 단계에서 상기 단말은 무선 랜 주파수 대역중 사용 가능한 주파수를 결정하여 충전용으로 사용한다.
네 번째 단계(23)에서 단말은 DC와 근접한 전파 전송을 요청하며, 충전을 위한 에너지를 전송하기 위하여 최대값(maxmum value)으로 전송을 한다. 즉, 바이너리 데이터를 DC value와 같이 1111..로 세팅하여 전송한다.
다섯 번째 단계(24)에서 상기 단말은 안테나에서 나오는 출력을 배터리 회로로 연결되도록 스위치를 스위칭한다. 도1의 시스템 구성 중 스위치(11)는 무선 랜 신호 경로와 충전경로를 전환하는 기능을 가지고 있으며 충전 모드로 동작시 충전경로로 무선 랜 신호를 전환하여 충전회로에 입력시킨다.
한편 본 발명의 상세한 설명에서는 구체적인 실시 예에 관해 설명하였으나, 본 발명의 범위에서 벗어나지 않는 한도 내에서 여러 가지 변형이 가능하다. 그러므로 본 발명의 범위는 설명된 실시 예에 국한되어 정해져서는 아니 되며 후술하는 특허청구의 범위뿐만 아니라 이 특허청구의 범위와 균등한 것들에 의해 정해져야 한다.
Claims (5)
- 전자기기가 엑세스 포인트의 전파를 스캐닝(scanning)하는 단계;
주파수 대역중 사용 가능한 주파수 대역를 결정하는 단계;
엑세스 포인트에게 상기 충전 주파수 대역으로 충전용 전파를 전송할 것을 요청하는 단계; 및
안테나에서 출력되는 전력을 배터리 회로로 스위칭하는 단계를 포함하는 전파를 이용한 무선 충전 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 전파는 무선 랜인 것을 특징으로 하는 전파를 이용한 무선 충전 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 충전용 전파는 바이너리 데이터를 연속된 1을 포함하는 값으로 세팅하는 것을 특징으로 하는 전파를 이용한 무선 충전 방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,
상기 전자기기의 충전이 완료되면, 안테나에서 출력되는 신호를 디코딩하는 회로로 전환하는 것을 특징으로 하는 무선 충전 방법.
- 전파를 수신할 수 있는 안테나;
성가 안테나의 출력을 디코딩 회로와 배터리 충전회로 중 어느 한 경로로 전환할 수 있는 스위치, 소정 주파수에 따라 매칭이 변하여 직류 성분을 추출하는 공진기;
추출된 직류를 단말기의 메인 전원으로 승압하는 전력 승압기; 및
상기 승압된 전력을 이용하여 배터리를 충전하는 배터리 충전회로를 구비하는 무선 충전 시스템.
