An exhaust gas recirculation cooler having a catalytic filter is provided to achieve complete oxidation of soot accumulated in an exhaust gas recirculation cooler by using a post injection scheme. An exhaust gas recirculation cooler having a catalytic filter comprises a flange(60) and a catalytic filter(65). The flange has a circular opening section at the central portion thereof such that an exhaust gas recirculation pipe communicates with an exhaust gas recirculation cooler(55). The catalytic filter is inserted into the flange to facilitate the oxidation of soot of a PM filter installed in the exhaust gas recirculation cooler. The catalytic filter has a size corresponding to the diameter of the circular opening section such that the catalytic filter is inserted into the circular opening section of the flange. The catalytic filter has a guide section(70), which is made of rubber, at the outer peripheral surface thereof.
