Abstract

An automatic speed control system using a GPS(Global Positioning System) is provided to prevent traffic accidents by preventing a driver from driving a vehicle over a speed limit. An automatic speed control system using a GPS includes a GPS satellite and a speed sensor, which is embedded inside an engine of a vehicle. GPS information received from the GPS satellite is input to the speed sensor of the vehicle. The speed sensor of the engine measures the current speed of the vehicle and transmits the measured result to the GPS satellite. The GPS satellite instructs the engine to slow down, when the current speed exceeds a speed limit.
