Abstract

Description
본 발명은 예를 들면, 라이오 채널에 의한 다수의 엔터티(entity) 상호통신으로 이루어진 무선 네트워크 분야에 관한 것이다. 좀더 구체적으로, 본 발명은 네트워크 엔터티의 송신 전력-소위 전송 전력이라 한다-을 조정하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 그것은 또한 그러한 네트워크의 엔터티를 형성하기 위한 무선 통신 유닛에 관한 것이다.
본 발명은 특별히 애드 혹 네트워크들(ad hoc networks), 즉 하나의 엔터티로부터 다른 엔터티로 데이터를 송신하기 위한 기존 인프라구조를 가지지 않는 네트워크들에 적용된다.

따라서, 에너지를 절약하고 엔터티의 자율성을 증가시키기 위하여는, 네트워크의 연결성을 보장하면서 가능한 네트워크 엔터티들의 전송 전력을 감소시키는 것이 바람직하다.
엔터티 근방의 기하학적 형태(topology)에 따라 소정 엔터티의 전송 전력을 모듈화시키는 것을 제안하는 통신 프로토콜들이 있다(공개된 국제특허출원 WO 02/03567호를 참조하라).
그러나, 채용된 상기 프로토콜들은 상대적으로 복잡하고, 비용면에서 불리하며 네트워크의 동작을 방해하는 많은 메모리 및 복잡한 알고리즘을 요구한다.
본 발명은 특별히 네트워크의 연결성을 보장하면서 네트워크 내의 에너지 소모를 간단하고 효과적으로 제한할 수 있는 무선 통신 네트워크 내의 송신 엔터티의 전송 전력을 조정하는 방법을 제안함으로써 상술한 문제점을 해결하고자 하는 것이다.
마지막으로, 본 발명의 일 태양에 따르면, 본 발명은
- 송신 엔터티(e)로부터 떨어져 있으면서 상기 송신 엔터티로부터 메시지들을 수신할 수 있는 네트워크 엔터티들 즉, 송신 엔터티에 인접한 엔터티들을 식별하는 단계;

노드(e)의 송신 또는 전송 영역은 수신 노드가 노드(e)로부터 송신된 신호를 수신할 수 있는 공간의 일부로서 정의된다.
이론적으로, 이 전송 영역은 송신 엔터티에 중심을 둔 구이며, 그것의 반경은 송신 전력에 따라 변한다. 그러나, 실제에서 네트워크(1)는 실질적으로 평평하기 때문에 이 전송 영역은 송신 엔터티에 중심을 둔 디스크 형태와 유사해질 수 있다.
