Claims (5)
- 편광자의 적어도 한 면에 투명 보호 필름을 적층하여 이루어지는 편광판의 한 면에, 편광판의 흡수축과 위상차 필름의 지상 (遲相) 축이 직교 또는 평행하게 되도록 적층한 광학 필름에 있어서,상기 위상차 필름은 nx>nz>ny 를 만족하고,상기 투명 보호 필름은 위상차 필름측에 적어도 배치되어 있고, 또한 두께 방향 위상차 (Rth)=(nx-nz)×d 가 0∼10nm 인 셀룰로오스계 필름이며,상기 필름은 모두, 파장 590nm 에서의 지상축 방향, 진상 (進相) 축 방향 및 두께 방향의 굴절률을 각각 nx, ny, nz 로 하고, d(nm) 는 필름의 두께이고, 상기 지상축 방향은 필름면 내의 굴절률의 최대가 되는 방향인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 필름.
- 제 1 항에 있어서,상기 위상차 필름은 Nz=(nx-nz)/(nx-ny) 로 표현되는 Nz 값이 0.4∼0.6 을 만족하고,또한, 면내 위상차 (Re)=(nx-ny)×d 가 200∼350nm 인 것을 특징으로 하는 광학 필름.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 기재된 광학 필름을 사용한 것을 특징으로 하는 화 상 표시 장치.
- IPS 모드의 액정 표시 장치로서,시인측의 셀 기판에는 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 기재된 광학 필름이, 위상차 필름이 셀 기판측이 되도록 배치되고,시인측에 대하여 반대측의 셀 기판에는 편광자의 적어도 한 면에, 두께 방향 위상차 (Rth)=(nx-nz)×d 가 0∼10nm 인 셀룰로오스계 필름을 투명 보호 필름으로서 적층하여 이루어지는 편광판이, 해당 투명 보호 필름이 셀 기판측이 되도록 배치되어 있고, 또한 전압 무인가 상태에 있어서 액정 셀 내의 액정 물질의 이상광 (異常光) 굴절률 방향과 해당 편광판의 흡수축이 평행 상태에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
- IPS 모드의 액정 표시 장치로서,시인측의 셀 기판에는 편광자의 적어도 한 면에, 두께 방향 위상차 (Rth)=(nx-nz)×d 가 0∼10nm 인 셀룰로오스계 필름을 투명 보호 필름으로서 적층하여 이루어지는 편광판이, 해당 투명 보호 필름이 셀 기판측이 되도록 배치되어 있고,시인측에 대하여 반대측의 셀 기판에는 제 1 항 또는 제 2 항에 기재된 광학 필름이, 위상차 필름이 셀 기판측이 되도록 배치되어 있고, 또한 전압 무인가 상태에 있어서 액정 셀 내의 액정 물질의 이상광 굴절률 방향과 해당 광학 필름의 흡수 축이 직교 상태에 있는 것을 특징으로 하는 액정 표시 장치.
