Abstract

본 발명은 사용자들의 과거 시청 이력, 명료히 입력된 선호들(preferences) 또는 복수의 쇼들의 시청자의 반응으로부터 유도된 선호 프로파일에 기초한 사용자 선호들에 따라 TV 프로그램들을 가입하는 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것이다.

Claims (20)

  1. 가입 방식(subscription plan)을 커스터마이징(customize)하기 위한 방법에 있어서,
    복수의 채널들로부터 복수의 프로그램들을 수신하는 단계와,
    상기 사용자에 의해 시청된 상기 복수의 프로그램들 각각을 모니터링하여, 상기 사용자에 의해 시청되는 특정 프로그램의 빈도를 나타내는 사용자 프로파일을 생성하는 단계와,
    상기 사용자 프로파일에 기초하여 복수의 가입 방식들을 추천하는 단계와,
    미래의 가입을 위해 상기 사용자 프로파일에 제공된 적어도 하나의 프로그램을 선택하는 단계를 포함하는, 방법.
  2. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    채널들을 선택하는 상기 단계는 상기 사용자의 입력에 응답하여 대화식으로(interactively) 수행되는, 방법.
  3. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    차후의 재생(subsequent replay)을 위해 기억 매체에 상기 선택된 프로그램을 저장하고, 상기 사용자에게 차후에 시청된 프로그램에 대해서만 과금하는 단계들을 더 포함하는 방법.
  4. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    시청을 위해 상기 선택된 프로그램을 디스플레이하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
  5. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 사용자의 변화하는 선호(preference)를 반영하기 위해 상기 사용자 프로파일의 상기 컨텐트를 갱신하는 단계를 더 포함하는 방법.
  6. 제 1 항에 있어서,
    상기 사용자에 의해 시청된 상기 복수의 프로그램들 각각을 모니터링하는 상기 단계는 미리 결정된 기준에 따라 상기 복수의 프로그램들의 상기 컨텐트를 분류하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 방법.
  7. 제 6항에 있어서,
    시청된 상기 복수의 프로그램들 각각의 상기 분류는 전자 프로그램 가이드(EPG)에 따라 수행되는, 방법.
  8. 제 1 항에 있어서, 프로그램들을 선택하는 상기 단계는 상기 사용자의 입력에 응답하여 대화식으로 수행되는, 방법.
  9. 시청자에 대한 가입 방식을 커스터마이징하기 위한 방법에 있어서,
    특정 프로그램에 대한 상기 시청자의 선호를 나타내는 적어도 하나의 사용자 프로파일을 생성하는 단계와,
    매치(match)를 결정하기 위해 상기 사용자 프로파일을 복수의 채널로부터의 유입 프로그램들과 비교하는 단계와,
    매치가 존재하는 경우, 미래의 가입을 위해 상기 일칭된 프로그램들을 상기 사용자에게 추천하는 단계와,
    특정 시간에 시청하기 위한 적어도 하나의 매칭된 프로그램을 선택하는 단계를 포함하는, 방법.
  10. 제 9 항에 있어서,
    상기 선택된 프로그램을 차후의 재생을 위해 기억 매체에 저장하는 단계를 더 포함하는, 방법.
  11. 제 10 항에 있어서,
    상기 프로그램들을 선택하는 상기 단계는 상기 사용자의 입력에 응답하여 대화식으로 수행되는, 방법.
  12. 제 9 항에 있어서,

    사용자에 의해 시청된 상기 복수의 프로그램 각각을 검출하여 특정 프로그램에 대한 상기 사용자의 선호를 나타내는 사용자 프로파일을 생성하는 수단과,
    상기 사용자 프로파일에 기초하여 복수의 가입 방식들을 추천하는 수단과,
    미래의 가입을 위해 상기 사용자 프로파일에 제공된 적어도 하나의 프로그램을 선택하는 수단을 포함하는, 시스템.
  15. 제 14 항에 있어서,
    미래의 가입을 위해 상기 사용자 프로파일에 제공된 적어도 하나의 채널을 선택하는 수단을 더 포함하는 시스템.
  16. 제 14 항에 있어서,
    상기 사용자에 의해 대화식으로 채널들의 상기 선택을 수행하는 입력 수단을 더 포함하는 시스템.
  17. 제 14 항에 있어서,
    차후의 검색을 위해 상기 선택된 프로그램을 저장하는 수단을 더 포함하는 시스템.
  18. 제 14 항에 있어서,
    시청을 위해 상기 선택된 프로그램을 디스플레이하는 수단을 더 포함하는 시스템.
  19. 제 14 항에 있어서,
