Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an ion-complex type antistatic agent and a conductive synthetic resin containing the same. More specifically, it relates to an antistatic agent consisting of a cation-ion conductive material and an anion-ion conductive material formed by coordination bonds, and a conductive polymer synthetic resin containing the same.
Recently, electronic products are demanding antistatic performance on packaging materials such as finished products or components in accordance with the trend of high integration. In addition to antistatic packaging materials, the demand for plastics and elastomers that require antistatic performance as functional components is also increasing. In general, plastics are used as insulating materials for various electronic components because they have high surface resistance as insulators. However, these plastic polymer materials have a problem of causing electrostatic phenomena on the surface and causing dust contamination and circuit malfunction. Accordingly, there is a growing demand for stable antistatic functional resins for preventing circuit malfunctions and preventing damage to electronic components by static electricity in packaging.
In order to impart antistatic performance to non-conductive resins, a method of lowering surface resistance by adding a surfactant having an antistatic function, carbon black, or a metal filler is used. The method of adding such conductive fillers may be mutually contacted or Within conductive distances, or within a certain distance (hundreds of Electrical conductivity is imparted by causing hot electron radiation or an electron tunnel effect to occur.
Examples of such conductive fillers include metal powders such as aluminum, silver, copper, and nickel, oxides such as TiO 2 , ZnO 2 , SnO 2 , ZnS, BaSO 4 , and carbon black. It is true that these conductive fillers are mixed with various resins to contribute to the conductivity, but the higher the blending amount is, the better the desired performance is, which is why the resin itself is not affected by impact strength and mechanical properties. There is a problem such as transition to the has been limited in use. In addition, the surfactant exhibits antistatic performance while reducing the static electricity accumulated through moisture in the air due to the transition to the plastic surface. However, the surfactant is not stable due to humidity, and the surfactant is continuously used during the use of the product. The loss due to surface transition implies that the shelf life is extremely short.
In addition to the method of lowering the surface resistance by adding a conductive filler, a method of imparting conductivity using alkali metal salts and transition metal salts has recently been applied. In other words, it is an ion-conducting polymer that provides an antistatic function by applying ion conduction. Ion-conductive polymers have the advantage of being more workable, unlike metal-filled polymers. Commonly used ions are alkali metal cations and transition metal cations. For example, US Pat. No. 4,618,630 imparts conductivity to polyurethane using ZnCl 2 and a surfactant, and US Pat. No. 5,639,847 mixes ZnCl 2 , FeCl 3 and an alkyl phosphate-based low molecular weight organic material. A method of imparting conductivity to a urethane is disclosed. Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 7-33977 discloses a method of mixing and applying a conductivity-providing material by an electronic conduction mechanism such as a metal filler and an ion-conducting material such as a transition metal salt to produce a conductive polyurethane. .
However, in using these conductivity giving agents, as in the case of the metal filler described above, mechanical property degradation and external transition of contaminants remain problems. When using transition metal salts such as ZnCl 2 , FeCl 3 and CuCl 3 as ion conductive materials, high acidity causes problems such as incompatibility of the final composition, surface transition, deterioration of physical properties, and corrosion of the reactor during the manufacturing process. To cause secondary pollution. Alkali metal salts are not significantly different from transition metal salts, but have an advantage of being slightly superior in acid value or compatibility. However, even in this case, in preparing the conductive composition, simply dispersing / solution without considering a suitable ligand pair for alkali salts may result in nonuniformity of distribution or deterioration of resin properties in the final molding resin. There is a problem that is separated to the outside after, and the electrical conductivity is not uniform.
In another example, Korean Patent No. 2001-0010433 discloses a conductive polyurethane prepared by dissolving an alkali metal salt or a transition metal salt in a low molecular weight ketone or a low molecular weight phosphate, and then applying a thermosetting resin to a urethane. When molecular weight ketones or low molecular weight phosphate materials are added to the urethane, secondary pollutants caused by solvent evaporation during final molding, poor molding due to molecular weight reduction during thermoforming, and antistatic performance after washing, etc. are caused. In addition, such a simple addition of the metal cation conduction type is applicable to thermosetting resins requiring low molding temperatures, but is difficult to apply to thermoplastic resins requiring higher molding temperatures.
According to the papers of Electrorochim.Acta (40, 2259, 1995) and Chem. Mater. (8, 469, 1996 and 9, 2236, 1997), metal cations It is introduced that coordination bonds (by the force of cation-dipole moment) can be formed with high molecular weight ethers, which are solvents including lone pair electrons, such as oxygen. However, there have been no examples of developing antistatic agents by applying coordination bonds of these metal cations.
Therefore, the inventors of the present invention have developed an antistatic agent that exhibits stable antistatic performance without problems such as surface transition and mechanical property deterioration. The inventors have found that it is possible to produce an excellent antistatic agent having excellent conductivity and high thermal stability, no surface detachment, and no deterioration of mechanical properties, and have completed the present invention. In other words, if the antistatic agent formed by the coordination bond of the solvent and the metal cation is used as a reaction type having a tighter bonding force than the simple addition of the metal cation, the stability is maintained, thereby solving problems such as molecular weight reduction, surface detachment and low thermal stability. It becomes possible.

Generally, the amount used is 5 to 40% by weight of the total weight, most preferably 20 to 35% by weight. When used less than 5% by weight, the electrical conductivity is low, it does not have an antistatic function, when using more than 40% by weight causes a change in physical properties.
The antistatic agent of the present invention may further contain a crosslinking agent used in the coupling reaction of the polymer. That is, the addition of a crosslinking agent can more completely solve problems such as molecular weight reduction, surface detachment and low thermal stability.
When explaining the manufacturing method of the present invention in detail, the metal salt is first put into a cationic conducting organic compound and heated with vigorous stirring so that a coordination compound can be formed. The reaction time is from 1 hour to 24 hours. Upon completion of the reaction, anion conducting organic compounds are added to the reaction product and heated with vigorous stirring for an additional 1 hour to 24 hours. The coordination reaction is then completed under reduced pressure in vacuo to give the final solution. After the reaction mixture has cooled to room temperature, an unreacted metal salt is removed using a filter. The transparent neutral solution (pH 7) prepared as described above is used as an antistatic agent by adding to polymer resin, plastic, rubber, and the like. An appropriate amount of the antistatic agent of the present invention to the polymer resin is 5 to 35% by weight of the total weight. When used below 5% by weight, the electrical conductivity is extremely low, thus losing the antistatic function. In addition, when used by more than 35% by weight, the properties of the polymer are lost due to changes in physical properties. The polymer resin that can use the antistatic agent of the present invention may be various thermoplastic resins including reactive two-component thermosetting resins. More specifically, acrylonitrile rubber, fluoro rubber, silicone rubber, ethylene propylene rubber, urethane rubber, chloroprene rubber, styrene butadiene rubber, butyl rubber, chlorosulfonate propylene rubber, polymer sulfide rubber, acrylate rubber, epicro Synthetic rubber, thermosetting polyurethane, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), PVC, ABS, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, nylon, polyester It is applicable to both synthetic resins alone and polymer blends thereof. In addition, the antistatic agent of the present invention is added to the polymer resin by adding a synthetic resin crosslinking agent to prevent the transition of the antistatic agent and contribute to maximize the durability of the antistatic effect. In other words, when an antistatic agent is formulated, an effective amount of a crosslinking agent used in the linking reaction of the polymer together with a cation-ion conducting material and an anion-ion conducting material is obtained, thereby providing a more stable antistatic effect by crosslinking the antistatic agent to the polymer resin. . More specifically di (dichlorobenzoyl) peroxide, dibenzoyl peroxide, tert-butyl peroxybenzoate, di (tert-butylperoxy) trimethylcyclohexane, dicumyl peroxide, di (tert-butylperoxyiso By adding one selected from propyl) benzene, tert-butyl cumyl peroxide and ditert-butyl peroxide, it is possible to achieve the effect that problems such as external transition after the final molding are greatly improved. The amount of the crosslinking agent added is less than 5% by weight based on the antistatic agent. If it exceeds 5% by weight, the antistatic effect may decrease.
The production of the conductive thermosetting resin using the antistatic agent of the present invention is prepared by adding the antistatic solution of the present invention to the raw material of the two-component thermosetting resin and aging. The conduction performance of the produced electroconductive thermosetting resin is about 10 5-9 dl / cm by surface resistance. Examples of the best thermosetting resins include polyurethanes and silicone rubbers.
Hereinafter, a method of applying the antistatic agent of the present invention to a synthetic resin will be described. There are two methods of adding the antistatic agent of the present invention to resin, one of which is a direct addition method and the other is an indirect addition method. These methods are explained taking thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) resin as an example. The indirect addition method for producing a conductive TPU is a method of adding an antistatic agent solution to an already prepared finished TPU.The TPU is heated to a melting point to be melted, and then an antistatic agent is added, the stirring is completed, and then the conductive material is cooled again. To get a TPU. On the other hand, the direct addition method is a method of adding the antistatic agent of the present invention in the TPU production process, which is sufficiently stirred by adding an appropriate amount to the polyol or isocyanate, which is a TPU raw material, and preparing the TPU according to the general production process to produce the desired conductive TPU. How to get. For controlling the physical properties, the weight ratio of the components can be varied in a relatively wide range, up to 5-35% by weight of the antistatic agent relative to the total weight, resulting in an electrical conductivity of 10 5-9 Ω / cm TPU resin can be produced. When the weight ratio of the antistatic agent is less than 5% by weight, the electrical conductivity is extremely low, and when the weight ratio is more than 35% by weight, the physical properties are lowered, and the property of TPU is lost.
The metal ion complexes of the antistatic agent developed in the present invention can form additional secondary coordination sites with the polyether or polyester functional groups of the urethane polymer chain, resulting in more uniform and stable antistatic performance in the final conductive TPU. . Not only the TPU but also a resin such as polyvinylidene fluorine and polyvinylpyridine having the characteristics of the thermoplastic resin can be prepared by adding the present invention antistatic agent to the conductive polymer resin in the same manner as in the TPU.
Conventional antistatic agents using alkaline metal salts or transition metal salts are similar to those used to impart conductivity by metal cations, but are simply dispersed / dissolved in organic solvents with low boiling points. Conductivity, surface detachment, pyrolysis and physical property degradation were caused. Therefore, in the present invention, the ion-complex type antistatic function formed of stable coordination bonds by reacting a cation conducting organic compound and an anion conducting organic compound capable of coordinating bonds and a metal salt with a high boiling point as an ion electron transport medium and having a non-covalent electron pair It is characterized by having. Here, the crosslinking agent used to increase the durability of the conductivity and the compatibility with the resin to be used has a feature of further extending the antistatic performance.

According to the present invention, there is provided an ion-complex antistatic agent that can completely solve various problems such as non-uniform electrical conductivity, surface detachment, pyrolysis, deterioration of physical properties of existing antistatic agents. By applying the ion conduction mechanism by the coordination bond, there is no molecular weight reduction and no surface detachment during high temperature molding, and it has a uniform and stable electric conductivity effect. The addition of the antistatic agent thus prepared to various resins has established a conductive resin production method that exhibits stable and uniform high conduction performance without affecting the basic physical properties of the resin itself. When the antistatic agent of the present invention is used, not only reactive two-component thermosetting resins can be added to various thermoplastic resins that have been limited in application, but also resins having uniform and stable antistatic performance without change in physical properties can be prepared.
