Description
본 발명은 자유라디칼 소거능 또는 세포내 항산화계 보호능이 있는 피부 외용제 조성물에 관한 것이다. 더욱 상세하게는, 본 발명은 블루베리, 라즈베리, 크란베리 또는 블랙베리 추출물 중 1종 이상의 추출물을 함유함으로써 자유라디칼을 소거하고 수퍼옥사이드 디스뮤테이즈, 카탈라아제 또는 글루타치온과 같은 항산화 방어인자의 손상을 억제하는 것에 기인하는 세포내 항산화계 보호능이 있어 피부의 노화를 예방 및 지연하는 효과가 있는 피부 외용제 조성물에 관한 것이다.The present invention relates to an external composition for skin having free radical scavenging activity or intracellular antioxidant protection. 노화와 자유라디칼(free radical)의 관계는 많은 연구를 통해 잘 알려진 사실인데, 자유라디칼은 정상적인 대사과정에서 발생하여 생체구성 성분들을 산화적 으로 손상시키고 이러한 손상들이 축적되어 결국 노화와 죽음에 이르게 된다는 사실이 알려져 있다. 정상적인 대사과정에서 생성된 자유라디칼들은 생체 내에 존재하는 수퍼옥사이드 디스뮤테이즈(superoxide dismutase) 또는 카탈레이즈 (catalase)와 같은 항산화 효소, 글루타치온(glutathione), 아스코르빈산(ascorbic acid, vitamin C), 알파토코페롤(α-tocopherol, vitamin E) 또는 유비퀴논 (ubiquinone)과 같은 항산화 방어인자 등에 의하여 제거되고 있으나, 완벽히 제거되지 않고 있다. 제거되지 않은 자유라디칼은 세포 및 조직에 다량 축적되어 세포 내 DNA 및 단백질을 손상시켜 암, 다운증후군, 알츠하이머 등의 유전 질환을 야기할 뿐 아니라 세포 및 조직을 파괴시킴으로써 노화를 진행시킨다.The relationship between aging and free radicals is well known in many studies.
