Abstract

PURPOSE: A printer embedded with a USB(Universal Serial Bus) controller is provided to enable a computer not having a USB host function to exchange data between USB devices by giving the USB host function to the printer. CONSTITUTION: The printer includes a USB interface(21), a USB controller(23), and a printing part(25). The printer exchanges the data with a plurality of USB devices(31,33,35) through the USB interface(23). The USB controller(23) transmits or receives the data with the one device of the USB devices(31,33,35) by controlling the USB interface(21). If a printing instruction for the data received through the user PC(10) is transmitted, the printing part(25) prints the received data. The printer searches the USB devices(31,33,35) connected by the USB controller(23), and transmits or reads the data from the connected USB devices(31,33,35).
