Abstract

PURPOSE: An advertising auction system at an Internet site is provided to maximize the effectiveness of advertisement by enabling an advertiser to insert his advertisement at a desired position. CONSTITUTION: Advertisers register for an Internet site, city25h(20). Looking around advertising positions, each advertiser selects a position to occupy and participates in an auction page the Internet site provides(30). If the auction period expires, the Internet site selects the advertiser who offered the highest price and provides the right to select a position(40). Then the Internet site provides the right to the next highest price in turn. After an arrangement of positions is finished, the Internet site uploads the next week's advertisers to the official announcement column(50).
